I dont see why not. even lacking mobility, Ali fights great off the ropes and although Joe hits harder with either hand, he doesnt take a great shot. Max Schmeling proved that Joe would have trouble in Ali's era, the era of George Foreman, Ron Lyle, Earnie Shavers, Jimmy Young, and Larry Holmes people could either take you out or box your ears off If Ali is pumped up enough, as he was for Foreman, he takes the title back from Joe Louis
Can you please stop with your jokes? They weren’t funny when you were imojl, and they’re not funny now.
That's what everyone does when they see your laughable attempt at a joke. You also have no originality. You've made that same joke countless times with different names. It wasn't funny the first time, and it's not funny now.
Personally, I'd favor Ali from 65'' until 73" over any version of Louis with the only caveat of him being in top shape. Love Louis, just not against Ali in his prime or close to it. If Conn could befuddle Louis and severely hurt him multiple times during their fight , I think Ali , who was bigger , faster, more skilled and tougher could do significantly better. Ali stops Louis with in 10-12 rds, after fighting cautiously and respecting the dangerous opponent in front of him. Some who compare what Frazier was able to accomplish against Ali as some how relative to what Louis would accomplish is comparing apples to oranges in my opinion. Ftazier's strength's matched up better against Ali than Louis's would. Though Louis was a better fighter overall than Frazier was. ( Doesn't mean he beats him though,Frazier would be a stylistic nightmare for Louis too in my opinion)
Conn was more technically sound and also a smaller target, which could make him harder to hit. Ali liked to keep his hands low and squared his body, making him there to be hit to the body.
This. A peak Louis would have decisioned Ali, though I imagine Ali might have hurt him on several occasions. Ali, from winning the title from Liston to his exile, wins a UD over Louis and looks pretty damn good doing it (he might possibly get dropped by a left at some point, though).
