Well... she's the only person in the amateurs or pro ranks to hold a win over Claressa Shields. Claressa has regressed as a pro, Marshall has improved by leaps and bounds. Do the math. Also, how good is Claressa exactly? Savannah has brutally ****ed up two of her best wins, in far more impressive fashion than she did, and yes... that counts. And proved she's better than Shields best win in Hammer, by battering Lindberg senseless. Then you'll say, but Pac beat Mayweather's opponents better than he did, yeah... well, Claressa is no Mayweather. So that argument isn't relevant here. It's debatable whether Claressa should've got the win over Hanna Gabriels (her actual best opponent), who a few on here scored the match in favor of Hanna. So again... just how good is Shields? Certainly based on the eye test alone, it's ABUNDANTLY OBVIOUS, she's not as skilled as Marshall. Anyone arguing to the contrary, might have no idea what they're watching. Claressa is objectively bordering on Wilder level at times. She still loses her mind and windmills every time she think she has an opponent stunned, everything else she does is rudimentary and by the numbers. She's just a big ox, and uses her size and speed to her advantage. Skillwise however.... Marshall is Fury-esque, she's easily the most talented female boxer in the sport currently, nothing she does is rudimentary. So... why are we even going back and forth? Go watch the two and compare, it's pretty goddamn obvious to anyone without blinders on, who the superior athlete and boxer is. You have to literally go out of your way to not see it. Stop acting like Shields is Andre Ward, because she's not. She's a one two artist who flurries a lot.
Hopefully your right altough it reeks of Hammer part 2 ie dislike clouding reality. Anyway since you mentioned talent what do you think of Sophie Alisch?
You should watch a bit more tape before claiming such nonsense. Shields is all about overwhelming opponents with aggression, output and 1,2s. She has no real jab and her footwork is horrendous. She's a plodder. Marshall is CLEARLY the better boxer and technical way more sound. She's basically a female version of Tyson Fury. She should easily outbox Shields with her range and jab and will land HARD counters when Shields is crushing into the pocket which she always does. Marshall already beat Shields when they were young. Shields was way more physical than Marshall was now and Marshall still got the job done. It won't be competitive at all when they meet again in a few months hopefully. When they fought you can come back to this topic and pay tribute to my knowledge and prediction. Shields was dropped by some bum girl in the past, you'll see what a savage like Marshall will do to her. The only thing that might save Shields from a stoppage loss are those disgusting two minute rounds.
Although Shields dominates every round against opponents to date, she's unable to significantly break them down. Typically they are still functional and scoring cleanly on Shields from time to time through to the last round- it's just that Shields is clearly outscoring them. This suggests that Marshall will at worst have 10 rounds to find punches to hurt a hittable Shields with. Recent contests indicate that after receiving relatively few full-force stiff jabs and combos Marshall's opponents are pretty much stationary sitting targets (eg Rankin, Muzeya) and at that point Marshall is a ruthless, clinical finisher. It seems likely to me that after a round or two of receiving Marshall's full power, Shields' speed and skill will desert her. She'll be in exhausted panicky survival mode and the end will be very near. The way, with calm composure, Marshall goes through the gears- from a lazy feeling-out jab to increasing the power and tempo of her shots building relentless pressure to savage finishing when she senses the the moment has arrived (yet still composed, not going wild) is very impressive.
Marshall is the better boxer. But it doesn’t mean that “Clorenzo” can’t make it a hellish ruff night & win a dawg fight. that said I’d give the edge to Marshall.
no, she looked sloppy in her last bout v a bum, no way is she out-jabbing Marshal with her much shorter reach.
Wow, clearly we see things very differently Hand speed is a natural thing and not really technical Footwork? Shields has poor to average footwork compared to Marshall who clearly moves better Defence? Thats just not true Shields gets tagged a lot. But to her credit tags her opponents more which hascearned her the majority of her victories Combo's? Watch last night
