Was there any Boxer in history similar to Tyson Fury's size who could move like him?

Agreed. Love him or hate him, the man's as close to a Boxer/Slugger/Swarmer as we've seen and are ever likely to see again.

    And agreed.

@djanders can attest to the fiction of Greb. Tunney on the other hand was good, don't worry. But his early retirement was in fact actually enforced by a certain poster...

In the early days he spoke of replicating Naseem Hamed to create his style. Plausibly his persona too...

Well fury doesn't have 1/3 of Hameds elusive head movement/athleticism (which you can't really fault him for as even if Fury was in perfect shape, he has limits with his huge 6'8 frame).

As for trash talk, I was never really impressed with Fury or his antics. I guess this generation of heavies are just dumb and easy to manipulate or something. I've seen far worse trash talk on a daily basis when I was in school lol, and Hamed was far better at getting in his opponents head too. It wasn't just the words, Hamed was good at making those manic expressions to unnerve guys.

Eh, most heavies have a 1/3 of the skill of the little guys in general, probably much less. I don't know, I guess the operating word should be "Inspired" because yeah, he doesn't operate like Naseem really at all, he's much more pleasant of a man outside the ring and you aren't wrong he has pretty lame taunts, Naseem wasn't much better though. In general I understand the need for hype when it comes to trash talk, folks who don't watch boxing for boxing need it to help sit through there yearly heavyweight fight.

I do not get you, but know you are an astute observer of the game.
If you mean he is a hyrbid of all 3 styles, I would think he is way more boxer-although he crowded Fury & changed his style up, much more aggressive, I do not think he had the volume nor infighting to be a swarmer.
Elements of it to execute acting like a slugger vs. Wilder twice, OK.

At 6'9" there are very frew examples, but Dychko a current yonug an undefeated heavy fighting nobodies moves a lot like him and isn't fat. I think he hits harder too. This is not to say he's better. His carrer path is very different. I guess the very tall gangly bald white guys can move. Henry Awikewade of however you spell his name was tall with quick feet.

If your tall 6'9" and have a jab, your tough to out box period.

A old time example would be Ed Martin.

I agree. Fury's primary style is Boxer. I expect to see some more of that in his next fight.

You're in good company. Most of my family, including my kids and most of my Grandchildren, and Great Grandchildren, nieces and nephews, etc., don't get me either. I have a very strange sense of humor, that's only gotten worse since I've gotten older. Other than me, the only 2 people I know who can tell when I'm serious or tongue in cheek (which include many of my posts on this forum), are my Wife and Granddaughter. Somehow, those 2 always seem to know, no matter how hard I try to keep them guessing.

Thanks very much for the feedback!
It is funny how some traits may skip a generation, than a 'lil cutie may understand you maybe even when she was very young?
I am just an Uncle 4 times over, & it is magical to find traits like your own & have some alchemical connection & mutual understanding transcending cliches about age, sex, generation etc.
