I see a lot of butt hurt Mayweather comments here. Come off it, he like a lot of guys made business choices when he got older and more famous. He still fought some great comp. The operating word is "In history" he ain't the worst offender just everyone's favourite. I reckon Butterbean is about as bad as it gets.

 

Sean O Grady he had alot of fights vs nobodies and fighters making their debut. Atleast 60+ of his fights were against no hopers.

I'm not saying it was all his fault, I know the issues with his dad running his career. But still atleast 80 percent of his fights were wasted fighting nobodies.

I don't buy the fact that Taylor was shopworn. He was on winning streak and had wins over Glenwood Brown and career performance against Aaron Davis not too long ago. And mind you Norris is one of the few men to stop the durable Steve Little. His resume still stands out despite his wins over over the hill Leonard, Mugabi and Curry.

 

He was dropped by Glenwood Brown twice and got damn lucky to get the decision. Chavez damaged him but also ducking the rematch damaged him because Meldrick really had no business at Welterweight...nevermind 150lbs.
It was the Duvas tactic move him up in weight when he was truly a 140lber. We saw later on when Taylor was desperate and had no options he made 140 for Chavez again.

 

Outside of maybe Quincy Taylor how many of those guys started out at middleweight? Just saying Norris was a good fighter he fought a number of smaller name fighters. He could've looked north for a big $ fight James Toney.
