I think it tends to be a bit overstated. I definitely wouldnt say guys like Aldo, Anderson or obviously actual legit elite ex-kickboxers like Izzy, Pereira etc "suck" at striking. It varies from fighter to fighter.

They do not "suck at striking". MMA just isn't boxing. These are two different sports. Boxing is Boxing. You don't have to worry about elbows, knees, kicks, Takedowns and other **** in Boxing. In MMA you have to. Striking is only ONE of many tools to get it going while it's the ONLY one in boxing. You can't expect a MMA fighter with 4oz gloves look like a world class boxer with 10oz gloves. Just not gonna happen. There are still a few decent MMA striker out there who could compete in boxing on a high level.

Boxers suck in MMA as well if you wanna say it like that.

If you look at Triller Triad Combat results from this Nov past, it would appear that the MMA fighters beat the majority of boxers on the card with only the use of their hands.

    • Matt Mitrione only had two weeks to train and still managed to knock Alexander Flores down but ended up losing a controversial decision (68-64, 67-65, 68-64)
    • Mike Perry def. Michael Seals via split decision (65-67, 67-65, 67-65)
    • Derek Campos def. Brian Vera via majority decision (65-65, 67-63, 66-64)
    • Albert Tumenov def. Scott Sigmon via unanimous decision (70-63, 70-63, 70-63)
    • Alexa Culp def. Angelina Hoffschneider via TKO in Round 1, 0:46

Icy Mike loves those antagonistic, Chael Sonnen-esque clickbait titles because he knows that the fragile MMA fandom will raise their pitchforks over the slightest provocation. He should read some posts on here and title his next video "MMA fighters can't take a punch" for some real backlash.

As a bonus, here he is brutalizing a sex pervert who just so happens to be the student of the Grandmaster of Bullshido, Ashida Kim:

Bald, middle-aged man obsessed with Japanese culture and thinks he's a ninja. You can probably guess what sort of perversions he falls into.

    Ah this old discussion...

MMA isn't boxing, this is like saying "Boxers suck at striking overall because they don't know how to elbow, kick or knee properly"

If you want to see great MMA strikers who were good all around and were accomplished in stand up sports look up Israel Adesanya, Anderson Silva, Semmy Schilt, Rafael Fiziev, Dejdamrong Sor Amnuaysirichoke, Mirko Cro Cop, Alistair Overeem, Joanna Jedrzejczyk, Stephen Thompson etc

Adesanya and Silva had no power when they fought with boxing gloves.

Adesanya fought a low level boxer and couldn`t hurt him as did Silva and I`m not talking about Chavez jr, Silva fought a journeyman boxer before that and couldn`t hurt him.

And? Adesanya also competed in over 80 kickboxing bouts and won well over 90% of them as opposed to only having 6 boxing matches.

I've listed several guys who are great strikers in MMA including one guy who had over 300 Muay Thai fights and was a World Champion in Muay Thai and MMA.

Again saying all MMA fighters have bad striking is like saying Boxers have bad striking because they can't do anything other than punch and lack kicks, knees, elbows etc
