Any details/rumours of Fury v Whyte undercard?

Typical. He must be the only promoter that makes the biggest fight ever on our shores but not only fails to get one half of the main event to do promotional duties but also puts the worst under card on imaginable. He's useless and this fight will tank on pay per view.

Isn't ppv split 50 50 between the promotor and the tv companies. Bt must have put some decent money in to this. Also you get a similar % amount I would think on ticket sales.

 

Frank was trying to sell dreams when pressed about the under card on the latest IFL interview. So Pull the other one. Props to Umar. He's the only pro in that outfit.

 

Far less on main events or does he spend the amount which means the show actually makes money?

With AJ and even the power of sky's promotion I don't think I heard Hearn ever predict 1.5 mil ppv buys as that is a extremely high number.

Warren predicting 1.5 mil needs to be a hope rather than a requirement. If they are banking on 1.5 mil ppv buys then they really have gambled.

 

I know - it was ridiculous how Okolie wasn’t disqualified and how he still got the nod despite getting 2/3 points off!! It’s good to see that he is a shadow of what he used to be now.

They are poor in large though probably not as bad as this weekend.

Thing is, Warren is probably paying Tommy close to £100K if not more.

He could so easily pay English level boxers 6/7K each to have some absolute barnburners over 10 rounds. It would get everyone hyped for the main event, give little known fighters a platform and not cost the promoter much. Winners all around

 

Maybe Tyson should give up a bit of his massive 80% purse to give us a decent undercard? He don’t care about the money after all right?

I’ve argued this point elsewhere....the percentage of hardcore fans who would rather see barnburners between solid British fighters is absolutely tiny compared to probably 80% of the audience/customers who will be pure causals.

BT understand this - they would rather pay Tommy Fury the 100k because of his celebrity status which may pull in some extra birds etc, rather than spend that money on a good British title fight or even a world title fight at a lower weight.

We are not the target audience - despite some people claiming they won’t buy because of the undercard, we all know they are lying. The have our money in the bag- they want casuals roped in now.

 

Problem is people may now look for a more fluid way to watch the fight as they’re not happy to stump up £25 just for a main event.

 

Frank thinks this does 1.5m buys possibly more. I’d say no chance.

 

Oh agreed. However you’d be surprised how many would tune in for Tommy vs the taxi driver he is fighting. Rather than Tommy in a completely winnable fight against someone who Joe public knows.

Tommy vs idris Virgo for instance who can’t punch for toffee and you sell it as love island vs love island.

 

I’d go for half that.
