Gennady Golovkin vs. Artur Beterbiev if both were the same size.

Beterbiev is probably the hardest punchers out there p4p. He is an average sized LHW yet hits as hard as a Cruiserweight/small HW.

If you're a savage puncher and have technique then you always have a chance.

Forget fantasies for a minute though. If they ever fought in real life or on the streets, GGG would probably get ragdolled and KOd.

I just don't see it with Beterbiev. Soon we'll see him ragdolled by Canelo let alone prime p4p GGG

Prime GGG p4p > Beterbiev by quite a margin

Golovkin has a better jab. I think Beterbiev’s defense is better. Golovkin can’t counter punch to save his life, Beterbiev is excellent at countering while moving forwards. Beterbiev didn’t win all his amateur competitions by being an unskilled swarmer-slugger. They are in the same ballpark but Beterbiev is more skilled, while being a far more impressive physical specimen.

Yeah he’s far bigger and a better boxer. Probably a bigger puncher as well, I doubt Golovkin would be knocking out the light heavy champ Stevenson.

I don’t think you understand what a short shot is. Golovkin doesn’t or can’t even throw straight punches, he loops every single shot to whip more power into them. He doesn’t have a single KO that is a short shot.

You clearly don’t know what you’re talking about. Go watch that knockout right now. See how Golovkin angles his right hand side of his body towards Macklin as he misses a shot and Macklin shells up? Golovkin now has all that space (so not short) to loop and whip his left hook underneath to the body.
A short left hook to the body is Hopkins against Oscar. Very big difference.

I thought this myth about ‘Golovkin choosing to get punched in the face’ was well and truly put to bed by this point. Golovkin was a great fighter but his defense was atrocious, he certainly didn’t have an ATG skill set. He had ATG power delivered by unorthodox looping punches, coupled with a very good chin and a good jab.

Go watch the fight again, and look at a Beterbiev fight. They have an almost identical style, and throw the same punches. Deverychenko backed Golovkin up, he would throw his short straight punches and then yes - he would step around on the inside and then loop punches. He is basically Beterbiev with far less power.

I never understand how GGG does so well in these mythical fights when we’ve seen first hand him struggle look like crap and arguably lose to the 2 semi decent fighters he’s ever fought.
How do y’all wrap y’all brain around that
Loss to Canelo arguably lost to Jacobs but destroys prime Hagler and bertebiev? It’s astonishing

Clearly you haven't seen much of him then. It's a thing that he does from time to time.

Did you start watching boxing yesterday?

    Uppercutfartist, is that you?

Yeah, only that. He's basically an amateur that got lucky and somehow made the most MW defences in history. Sort of tripped up into it.

Settle down, I just pointed out his strengths and weaknesses. Google Identity Fusion. I’m not attacking you, you’re safe and nobody is trying to hurt you
