Golovkin still a star in boxing too bad he's plagued by inactivity like a lot of the top fighters.

I can see Clenelo struggling with Golovkin in the later stages of the fight

    Yeah it's absolutely ridiculous

Floyd fans: ''Floyd is the money man everyone wants that payday''

A bigger fighter calls Floyd out, and GGG was asked if he would take the fight by an interviewer, and he offered to go down to 154

    Floyd fans:

Even LHW B-Hop called out Floyd and wanted him to come up to 160

Pretty good fight all things considered

Did not look at other scores or opinions on the thread

I had it 78-74 Golovkin With him winning round 1 losing 2 and 3 before sweeping the remainder

I thought Murata fought a great fight, he met Golovkin in the middle of the ring and fought courageously. Early on he was able to back Golovkin up, get physical with him, hurt him to the body and take his punches. However over the course of the fight Golovkin improved and showed his ability level is a notch above. What Murata could be successful with was taken away and he just did not have another gear.

I could not believe the last stand he made in the ninth before going down. He took an onslaught, stayed up and then had Golovkin on the retreat before getting nailed.

You could see the age and lay off on Golovkin early as he was a little heavy on his feet, his hands dropped a little and his mouth was open but round 5 is where he seemed to find himself. The fight became a domination after the 5th. His combination punching is still outstanding and his foot work loosened up a little more as well.

I think Canelo will be the favorite in my mind if he gets by Bivol of course but I think Golovkin is still a very dangerous fight

Side note, I thought the commentary team was pretty good. Algieri I thought made good observations but did not inject himself at all. I thought they called it how they saw it and gave each man their credit. Even when it seemed like Algieri was calling a lot of Murata's work he chimed in and said he had Golovkin ahead.

Well, if Ward did express a potential willingness to do a catchweight (and I have no recollection of him doing so, though it's not inconceivable that I may have missed a statement where he speculatively entertained the possibility), the timing of the statement matters. When Ward came back in 2015, after his rust-shaker with Paul Smith between '68 and '75, he was very set about meeting Golovkin at 168 or not at all. If your contention is that he spoke of carchweights at some point, I'd like to see evidence of it (if he did speculate to that effect, I'd expect it to have been either a little prior to his lengthy hiatus or at some point during it). The deal proposed to Golovkin's team was for a bout at 168, in any case.

Canelo will be targeting the body all night and landing at will. Not sure I want to see this fight. A faded GGG will get battered

There is a reason Lil G chose to fight Murata and avoid others.

Good question. Could Plant keep Murata off of him? I dont think he could, he has no power.

If memory serves this was before the Smith fight in the months leading up to the Lemuix fight. But even if my memory is completely shot I feel it a tad silly to argue particulars over a fight offer that was never real. It was a ridiculous, not-serious proposition either way.

Remember when Dre was being interviewed by a British reporter and the reporter mentioned that Froch and Groves sold 80,000 tickets for their rematch and Dre responded by posing them the question, almost incredulously, how many tickets did he think a rematch between him and Froch over in Wembley would sell? To which the reporter awkwardly replied ''just as many?.'' Guess what Dre's response was? ''Yes, if not more'' :risas3::risas3:
