So what? murata is kind of a special fighter? kind of a p4p fighter or something like that? maybe a top fighter in any area?

Murata fits perfectly in gg's resume. Beating murata is what golovkin has been doing his whole pro-career, that's why his resume sucks and that's why his career sucks. Wasted talent.

He's awesome at beating mediocre fighters, though, I have to admit that.

He beat Canelo and stop pretending he didn't. Is Canelo mediocre? That's what I thought. You know GGG just might move up and whoop Canelo's a@#. The rust is gone and he has his new nutritionists. He is forty but, I would favor GGG over Smith, Plant, and Saunders as well as old kovalev. Could any of those guys stood up to the onslaught GGG was putting on Murata? It took just one of Canelo's punches to fold Plant. Could he stand up to GGG, doubt it.

Lmao his career sucks so bad he’s having a 3rd mega fight with canelo since even 175 pounders can’t give him a challenge
    YDKSAB!

Edit: you seem to forget that 40 year old Golovkin is wasting away “mediocre” fighters that are champions. Murata never been hurt before never dropped Olympic gold medalist. Stopping Murata the way he did just adds to his legacy

I gave Murata 3 out of the 1st 5 rounds.
    He was effectively pressuring GGG
He was bringing it to him & backing him up

GGG made some key adjustments with his lateral upper body movements & started to out land Murata. & Once GGG smacked Murata’s gum shield out his mouth.
He became timid & unsure of himself
& the avalanche ensued, he never truly recovered from that moment aside from a short lived rally when GGG punched himself out a bit trying to get him out of there after he opened up the round with a Savage head shot.

I’m going to miss the guy when he hangs them up.

i just hope he can have a Márquez vs Paquiao 4 moment against Canelo , that would be fun - Why not!?

Murata went out on his shield, just like I figured he would. Fight turned out exactly as I thought it would, this is why Golovkin's handlers wanted this fight. A good come forward guy that doesn't go well going back that's tough and would give Golovkin some pushback but wouldn't be a danger of winning

To be honest I thought that skills wise GGG looked good. I liked the way that he's combining all his shots together and varying his attack. He's gone back to a more boxing centric approach which I like. On the other hand he is 40 and visibly a good deal slower than in his prime. Oh well.

Credit to Murata who kept coming to the very end, energized by the crowd. GGGs heavy hands wore on Murata as the fight progressed, and he varied his attack nicely. It was a good, exciting fight. GGG has slowed a bit but still has the pop. This was a good comeback fight for him.

Truth...At Big Bear always there to help other Fighters and a Gentleman towards other fighters and staff.....Sadly I think Old Man Time has caught up with Him a Bit like a lot of great fighters but he never let his Ego tarnish his incredible record.!!!

Truth be told, when the pace of the fight started to change I could see glimpses of how terrifying this man was in his prime. I felt that I was so laser focused on his age and hence he would be slower than I actually noticed him being slower in the first place. This fight reminded me of his battle with Kell Brook. Shaky at first but utterly dominant later.

All I’m worried about is his health if he chooses to go ahead with Canelo. Either way, GGG you touched so many. Keep your fists up and chin low and continue giving us Drama !

Yeah he's very well liked by his fellow fighters who've shared a ring with him or trained alongside him and by almost everyone who knows him.

You're now training alongside Gennady Golovkin…
    Joe Joyce:
GGG is there, helping and inspiring us. He has been stitching me up by giving me the heaviest weights! He has been really welcoming. He is a really nice guy. Similarly to me, he is a nice guy outside the ring but is not a nice guy inside the ring.

Yep trust me lot's of story's like that you never hear about....His Amature and Pro record were up there with the best of them and if He was not done over by Adelaide Byrd and Las Vegas we would be talking about him as possibly the Greatest Middleweight that ever lived sadly Corruption in Boxing has done Him no favors.!!!....
