Small contribution. I’ve linked this pre-scanned Cleveland Williams article before. I USED to own the magazine in which it was contained. Seems the right place to drop here maybe:-

I could be wrong, but I think it was online that I found a fully scanned article from a boxing mag. pertaining to Foreman fresh out of the Olympics prepping for the pro ranks. - I’ll see if I can find it. Let me know if there’s any issues with posting same here. Thanks.

EDIT: Ah, I forgot that Pulp International can be can be an excellent source for vintage boxing articles. Here’s one such article: Sandy Saddler: I DON’T FIGHT DIRTY

Thanks for your contribution guys! I'm interested in looking up The Ring magazine's pound for pound ratings from its inaguration on 1989 to 2007. Are there scans for these magazine online? Tried looking up on archive.org but can't seem to find them.

Ebay is awesome for this. I have purchased a variety of old car magazines from the late 60s, early 70s. Fascinating to read magazines from a different era.

I’m thinking of reading the old mags but every time I’ve tried they just seem so how would you say “meh” I’ve never got the hype.

they are excellent & necessary for Research, and some obviously better than the others, the British ones are Soooooooo England Centric and Repeat Repeat it's not even funny... though again a must for Research. the Ring up until the mid-late 50s is excellent for Research & Collectors, after that we are in the TV and Video Era, which replaces or consolidates any assessments of fighters.

IF you research they are useful especially In-Tow with NEWSPAPER ARCHIVES. I Sold ALL of my Collection and just retained the Years I am interested in 1930s & 1940s, and I am Thrilled to have them.
