At 40 years old though? Golovkin deserves a lot of praise in that context. I don’t want to see Golovkin fight Canelo again though, he will get destroyed.

Canelo became pro at 15. Golovkin at 25.

I don't think Canelo will be as fresh as Golovkin at 40.

Golovkin did have 300 amateur fights though.
I agree that Canelo won’t be as fresh at 40, because he has tested himself more and fought more often, and because he’s an explosive type fighter while Golovkin is not.

I don't rate amateur that much. Head gear, taps are scored like power punches so fighters are trained to hit light and connect.

In Amateurs you can fight two three times a day because unlike pros it's not as physically or mentally demanding.

So? I don't doubt that in the least. Canelo is an elite fighter, but so is GGG. Now who else do you think would've done that to Murata at Middleweight?

I don't know. I need to see Murata fight higher caliber opposition.

I just watched the fight and I saw two slow old fighters going at it jn a phone booth.

Golovkin is a machine though, he can take a punch and has a punch of his own. He just keeps coming, and he hits like a mule.

I think the only way to beat Golovkin is by outboxing him and Murata didn't try to do that.

    Because Murata knew he couldn’t,
He had the right game plan, just not enough juice to execute that game plan.

This is why I would love to see Golovkin fight Charlo or Andrade next to see what he can really do at this age. Unless they spark him early, I really don't see them controlling the fight.

It’s pointless for GGG to fight Nelo 3
    (Other then Money of course)
He should unify undisputed at Middleweight for his legacies.

that would be the integrity move.

GGG knocked the juice out of him. It's amazing Murata stayed up as long as he did. It must be like his Dr said that he has an unusually thick skull. That fight likely took years off his life.

I would like to see that, but if GGG want's to go up for the undisputed middleweight title and pound for pound title then I'll back him. No one should never say he don't take risks again after that. The man has power and Canelo better be ready for this forty year old, he ain't playing.

I was wincing. Muruta kept his hands up and got chopped up for solid half minutes at a time, nasty stuff.

it would seem his brain would be mush right now. Curtis Steven's and Lemieux took alot of shots but not this much I dont think.
