In 2005 at the time of the quote, Floyd had yet to fight at 147. So you repeating that same thing over and over doesnt portray you as a genius.

Obviously like all top boxers for every match it is a case of risk vs. reward.

Its fair to say "well he should have not named him if he knew it wouldnt happen" just as it is fair to point out that every fighter would have just as long, and truly on average much longer, a list of fighters they directly named they wanted to fight with zero interest or ability to actually make the fight.

He would have no business campaigning there. For most of its history 154 has been a stopover division between 147 and 160, so breaking down the top ATG list is not very helpful. Obviously Floyd could beat some of the smaller guys coming up -- he proved that -- but it's not where you'd want him to place himself against elite fighters in that size range.

The Canelo situation is interesting and heavily caveated based on the "special" protein products Canelo has access to. Otherwise, Floyd benefited from the absence of one of the elite career guys at 154 like McCallum or Jackson. Certainly, you wouldn't expect him to drag someone down from 160 like Winky. The fight never made any sense and was a farce from day one.

Don't pretend like this fight would be unfair size wise.

That has nothing to do with blame. If Floyd was at 147 and called him out at 154...that IS a little different then when a 140er does it. Besides, it was a garbage call out from floyd who chickened out when Winky said yes. Already my position on that.
