If Frank Bruno had challenged James Buster Douglas in Oct 1990, it could have turned out to be an interesting bout provided that Douglas replicated the same training regiment that he used prior to winning the title from Mike Tyson on Feb 11 1990. Buster would have had to use the same game plan as in Tokyo. Bruno though strong is a very stationary fighter who could be tagged with an overhand right hand, ask Terrible Tim Witherspoon who stopped an exhausted Bruno on July 19 1986 in London. The combos and movement would greatly trouble Frank, causing exhaustion from being countered at every turn. In my opinion, Douglas stops a tired and stiff heavy handed Bruno in round 10.
Whatever it’s worth I contacted Bruno’s team and they claimed by some manner of measurement he equaled a 50lbs Sledge hammer swing.
