Anyone give Whyte a chance next week?

No, should indeed be another comfortable sexy Chisora 2 slickfest but Whyte is a bit of a banana peel imo. If Fury is dumb enough to take him lightly or get careless he could find himself on his arse. Plus you never know when Fury's punch resistance will desert him. Whyte is garbage though.

And I also have a feeling in my bones that it's not going to be a walk in the park for Fury.

Some people would have you believe Whyte is area level on here. Wouldn’t surprise me if Fury has to get off the canvas again.

 

In his last 3 fights he’s been to hell and back with 2 men 10 years past their best who in their prime never amounted to anything close to world level. Including being starched clean on his back by Povetkin who was a middle aged man at the time.

On all known evidence this is a complete mismatch and the only way he causes Fury any trouble is if Fury gets casual on the way in and Whyte uncorks a right hand from somewhere. That’s literally the only shot he has a chance of taking him out with.

My guess it it’s going to be a succession of double and triple jabs followed up by overhand lefts to the top of the head whilst backed up on the ropes that Whyte has to contend with for about 8 rounds until his corner throw the towel in or the ref shows mercy on him.

 

If Fury comes out swinging then Whyte is a very live dog.

If Fury chooses to box for the first half of the fight then it’s the smart move and I see him taking an exhausted Whyte out in about the 10th.

Fury is obviously the clear favourite but I wouldn’t rule Whyte out. Stranger things have happened

Yes he has a chance. As a Fury fan and somebody who can't stand Whyte I am a little worried for Fury but still confident that he will win but it is certainly not a foregone conclusion. In saying that I would love nothing more than to see Fury give him a one sided beat down and knock him out.

 

Want Fury to win as I want to see the AJ fight but wouldn't be shocked if Whyte won and I give him as good a chance as anybody to pull it off

But people making out he’s on Forua level are driving me insane. This is the same guy who’s gone life and death with Chisora twice, got saved by the bell against Parker, Ives out by a 41 year old Povetkin… come on guys seriously!

 

It depends how fat Whyte comes in at. I mean Fury is no Body Beautiful, but he was in better shape in his 3 years of boozing and drugging than Whyte has been in his last few fights.

That training video Whyte posted up the other day doesn't tell us much, apart from he owns a sledgehammer and his elbows are pointy.

 

I think the Fury of old would have boxed Whyte's head off and made him look the plodder he is. I don't agree with anyone who believes that all he has to do is follow the blueprint for how he dealt with Chisora in 2nd fight. That version of Fury has gone. This version comes to knock his opponent out and Whyte doesn't have to go looking for him, chasing him around the ring trying to nail him. Fury's going to walk right up the garden path and knock on the door so this is a dangerous fight if he switches off by getting nonchalent or gets carried away by the crowd.

I think if Fury respects the threat Whyte carries, then he will set everything up behind the jab. He'll tie Whyte up at every opportunity and lean on him and he'll properly give him a beating that will have the towel coming in or a KO.

I think we will see Fury go through the gears a bit. Whyte is probably going to come out the traps fast swinging for hills so it would make sense for Fury to box long use the jab and make Whyte pay anytime he over reaches or looses balance (which he does all the time). Tyson may not be as fleet of foot as he once was, but he's still a better mover than Whyte.

I'd expect Fury to start walking him down around 5 once Whyte has lost some steam and then stop him between 6-10

I think Fury's weight on the scales will tell us a lot. If he's really heavy he's going to try and win a shoot out from the get go which plays into Whyte's hands a bit more lighter and he's prepared to box for his openings.
