Ennis is fighting Custio Clayton who's no slouch in a final eliminator. I believe he's very much keen to fight the top guys at welterweight.

I don't think Stanionis would beat Lipinets

I feel confident that Ennis doesn't beat them because he hasn't fought anyone like Butaev or Staniois in their prime. Fights are won in the ring, NOT ON PAPER!

    1) Clayton got a draw with a guy that Ennis already beat. Beating Clayton means nothing.

    2) Clayton is in his 30's, Butaev & Stanionis are in their 20's and in PRIME!

They are the same type of fighter. I'd favor stan because of his youth

I'm taking Stanionis here. I don't feel strongly about it but I think he's more talented.

Care to go into more details?
Is it because he has a better jab?

    Fights aren't won on paper??

Well ****....I've been doing this wrong for nearly 40 years.

Incidentally, when two fighters haven't fought each other, resume and talent/toughness/intangibles are the only resources we can rely when speculating who might win.

Neither Stan nor Butaev have a measurably better resume than Ennis, and the eye ball test clearly indicates that Ennis is most physically talented/gifted of the three.

Has Ennis fought anyone as good as those two? No. But have Stan or Butaev fought anyone as good as Ennis? No. So your pronouncements here are hardly grounded in unimpeachable reasoning.

Yeah and technically he seems slightly sharper and he is smoother in his punch delivery, and in his transition from offense to defense. There's just less delay in his work. I think Stanionis has slightly better footwork and looks better at mid-range, too. However I would label Butaev as a bigger hitter, stronger, and more durable fighter, at the moment. Any questions will probably be answered come fight night, though.

I agree. Butaev is so strong and heavy handed, I just don't see Stanionis being able to hold him off. Butaev vs James was a really eye opening fight. I have always respected James's boxing ability but Butaev literally broke him in that fight with his steady pressure and power. Butaev is very much a Dick Tiger type guy really puts the hurt on his opponents.

Maybe someday we will get Butaev vs Tzysu? That fight would be an absolute war!

I always thought it eas highly questionable,as Dwyer likes to say he was always a brawler masquarading as a boxer.
Altough he’s not from there he’s got to much Philly in him.

Nonsense, we don't know who will win if they all fought...Boxing fans (not casuals) know that we don't win fights on paper.

    Ennis has fought NOBODY
    Butaev has fought NOBODY
    Staniois has fought NOBODY
    Oritz has fought NOBODY
    Benn has fought NOBODY
