Louis but I wouldn’t give him much of a shot, Dempsey would get a pretty bad beating

Joe Louis for sure. I’d pick Joe over him regardless. Fury looks like he would be good against a lot of guys but can’t really say that as he’s really barely fought anyone

Man ... I might go with Dempsey.

Louis was better overall, but Dempsey has dynamic feet that can bring him into range quickly so that he can unload. Louis is the better technician but he's up against a giant that is also a technician. I think in this scenario you need a balls to the wall approach to have a chance. I might also say that Dempsey hit harder on his best punch. The fact that JD is pretty much spent after round 4 is of little consequence. Neither of these two are going to win a UD over Fury.

They are probably the two best heavyweights in history, at overcoming a size disparity.

Louis has less of a size disparity to overcome, so you might name him.

I picked Dempsey, I thought he had a better chance of getting Fury out of his game.
When I see Dempsey-Gibbons, I'm impressed by Dempsey's ability to shift gears in round six and keep up an active grind-down into round fourteen. Yes, he couldn't blitz forever, like nobody sprints 15,000 meters; but pre-layoff Dempsey had good springs under him for the distance.

In answer to the OP's question, I'd go with Joe Louis, but I also like Jack Dempsey's chances.

You like a sloppy 180 pounder from 1920 against a 6ft 9 270 pound modern HW with an iron jaw, can fight inside can box his head off at range etc? This **** completely baffles me, is it pure nostalgia or what? Jack Dempsey was good for his time but I highly doubt he even wins a title at 175, I’d pick Beterbiev to knock him out nevermind Fury who had almost 100 pounds on him

Fury beats both, but if I were to choose one, I'd say Dempsey cause he moves better.
Louis stands no chance whatsover, Fury will obliterate him.

Dempsey had a better left hook than Fury who has never KO`d a fighter with an inside punch.

Louis was a far better combo punchder than Dempsey or Fury so I`d give him a good chance Dempsey was too small.

Hard to pick who has a "better" chance between those two.... I think they both beat Fury.

Louis because if he hurts Fury he's one of the best finishers in history
