Against Ugas tonight, Errol's mouth piece was knocked out and he just switched off and started walking towards his mouth piece to retrieve it. The incompetent and idiotic referee also caused confusion on this moment by way of his positioning and hand gestures. Ugas (legally) capitalized and land at least 2 very hard headshots, cracking Errol's head back.

However, this is not even the first time this has occured. Back in the fight against Danny Garcia the same thing happened. This time it was without the referee causing any confusion.

I'm not sure if this is some kind of symptom of a brain injury after the accident, but it's worrying. It reminds me of that heavyweight David Price who would freeze after getting hit and then eat more more shots until he got fully KO'd.

Well in Errol's case, he doesn't even eat any shots and he loses all situational awareness. I think he needs some tests done or something because that's not normal.

Side note: not only was Ugas eye fully closed, it was also leaking blood from inside the slit. You could see it when he was being interviewed, so that stoppage was fully legitimate.

Here is the incident with Danny Garcia (time-stamped).

Errol Spence Jr. is incredibly lucky it happened right on the bell, with the referee right there ready to jump in. Danny Garcia was leaping in with a swinging right to Errol's head, a head that was facing in another direction with Errol's eyes looking down trying to spot his departed mouth-piece.

My guess is that he's very self conscious about getting those upper dentures knocked out. That's why he hoping the ref immediately halts the action.

I mean you could almost look at it another way. He was so unconcerned about his opponents he thought he was in a sparring session.

    Relax guys...I'm half kidding.

Ohh I had forgotten the garcia one, has me wondering if he has an issue with his new teeth and keeping the mouthpiece in (twice in 2 fights isn't alot, not like its falling out every round, but it is curious)

Exactly what I thought. Clearly can't take a clean shot. Crawford is going to show Spence up

I think it's more of a tactic, that if he walks to get his mouthpiece the referee will instinctively stop the action however has backfired for him.

It was a bit weird as it happened, he just totally switched off and went hunting his shield in the middle of exchanges like nothing else mattered.

    Odd.

Amir Khan was doing this a lot against Brook on the breaks, probably because he was buzzed to be fair. Took a massive right hand because of it.

You cannot lose concertation like that it's really poor form. Being relaxed is important but not that relaxed.

If you watch Fury fight he is engaged every second, the second the opponent wilts or lapses he is all over it. Crawford is the same.

I have always favoured Spence over Crawfish but with age, weight and injury issues it continues to go in Crawfish's favour. The boxing match is clearly in Crawford's favour at this point. It's the rough and tumble where Spence still surpasses but Crawford is going to make it a boxing match and the boxer normally dictates.

Fight should be made next but it won't.
