Why no quality undercard in Fury-Whyte?

    Even co main event I would expect to see decent fight. Make Wallin vs Parker or something.

    This ppv starts at 12 noon in california, its happening in the UK so i dont expect a strong undercard.

    Yeah I think I read the other day that Frank Warren said “there’s only so much money to work with” or something to that effect.

    The problem is the general public only care about the headline act and Warren knows that. As for myself if it is a PPV event i definitely want a decent undercard so there is no way i will be purchasing this event,will listen to the radio broadcast instead

    Money obviously but also Frank Warren' s stable is pure **** nowadays. Outside his top 5 he's got no-one.

    I understand why but it's still terrible. I'm not buying the PPV for this reason, and I'm someone who buys most of them (including Spence/Ugas). PPVs should be a showcase for boxing.

    The problem we have now is we are at a point where any old fighter demands way more than they are worth for any halfway meaningful fight, can you believe Ruiz v Arreola and Conor Benn's last fight were ppv? So many fights are being put on ppv to cover the stupid purses fighters are demanding, so then there is actually a really intriguing fight like this the purses are even more astronomically high which leaves no money for a decent undercard, it really is getting beyond a joke with what is considered a ppv worthy fight! Wouldn't be surprised if this event bombs to be honest because there are too many low calibre fights on ppv and I think people are getting sick of it

    There was no consideration or thought about the undercard. Its shortsighted and cheap. 42 million purse bid and they don't have anything for a decent co-headline? Very doubtful, its just being cheap.

    This was also a golden opportunity to feature Dubois on the undercard but instead Warren got him involved in the WBA regular title mess

    The venue was practically empty for the undercard match up between Stanionis and Butaev the other day even though it turned out to be one of the fights of the year, everyone who KSAB knew it was going to be one of the fights of the year going in, and that stylistically it was always going to be so.

    But the answer to the question is money and it's a terrible undercard
