He’s not just a left hook guy. One trick Pony. He has other tools, carries a lot of strength in other punches. bottom line, Fury ain’t head and shoulders above Whyte. Whyte isn’t as terrible as this forum believes. He isn’t a tickover, or an easy nights work as touted by several dozen on here.
Yeah this is my gut feeling too. Think Whyte will throw the kitchen sink early doors and cause Fury some serious issues. Then he'll adjust and take over in the mid rounds I reckon. I'm expecting a good fight despite being 90% certain who the winner will be.
You know you're in the week of a big fight when alts come out of the woodwork making bold predictions...
I do think Whyte's power will cause some issues - and you can't just nullify it by denying him space like Fury did to Wilder (and FWIW, Whyte's clearly hurt guys with known good chins, that power is undeniable - Wilder appears to hit hard, maybe even harder, but he wasn't knocking out the sort of granite chinned guys that really prove that power is real). Still think Fury will win this on points but a KD or even two wouldn't surprise me that much.
Fury is to big for Whyte, the height difference in that press conference was apparent. Whyte won't be able to close the dinstance for me.
The only pathway I can see to a decision is multiple knock-downs - which is possible, but I think he'll struggle to take too many rounds without them.
It can't be happening. Wach had given Whyte a beating. Likewise, Whyte had given Wach a beating too, on the other hand. But, is Wach as chinny as Fury? Fury is frequently knocked down.
Yes whyte knocks him out within 4 rounds, fury has a habit of doing something bad that im sure whyte and his team figured it out that will make whyte have an easier time.
To be honest, Fury talking about retiring and being done isn't a good sign that he's in the best frame of mind for the fight. Could be his nonsense, but maybe he'll come in lacking fire and get done in.
Not necessarily in my eyes. I think Fury is the real deal, but I couldn't put my hand on my heart and swear that I fully believe it - he's clearly got skill and good chin and recovery... The question is whether he's really back to his best or even to a level that stands him at the very top of the division - since his return (ie: the fighter we're actually talking about NOW, setting aside the ability we saw against Wlad) he's beaten a few cans, had a close scrape with a game but relatively unknown Wallin and both clowned and battered a hopelessly hyped borderline fraud (to put it mildly) of a champion in Wilder. It's not the kind of resume that tells me that this is definitely Fury back to his Wlad fight level, let alone beyond it - he might be, but I'm not convinced I've got enough evidence to fully trust that hypothesis... And yet, I still think he wins this. Whyte's a solid contender with a resume that would make the likes of Wilder blush - he's routinely written off and underrated on here, but he's not nearly as bad as he's made out to be IMHO... He's also been made to sit in line for title shots whilst guys with no business getting them have had their moment. If Whyte wins, does it mean Whyte is better than most (myself included) think? Or does it just mean that Fury has been overhyped on the basis of a fight 6.5 years ago and a trilogy against a tracingpaper champion? Or, as you hypothesize, is it merely a fluke?
