I remember Eddie Hearn saying that DAZN had so much money that they could buy the sports rights they wanted.

Has to be a reason why UFC and others aren't going with them and can't just be they keep getting outbid.

@Trafford must be gutted again, twice he has shot his load early over DAZN deals.

3rd time lucky bit I guess if they keep making companies overpay and can hang around eventually they will get a bite

Pretty certain ufc mandate a TV channel and that's why they could get out of the eleven sports deal as eleven sports didn't get a channel on sky which they promised.

Being outbid doesnt mean anything unless we know the numbers and whether the winning bid was actually value for money.

Sky were also interested in ufc but clearly didn't see the same value as BT did either.

Don't think it's anything other than money.

UFC rights are held by DAZN in Japan, Germany, Italy and Spain so its not like ufc don't already have a relationship with DAZN.

It's almost as if they are a money laundering scheme funded by a mysterious benefactor.

They are probably just getting outbid. DAZN was never gonna come in and blow everyone out the water. They are learning like others before them that sports rights in the UK is a very tough market. Going up against BT and Sky not easy.

What is worrying is if the rumours are true that DAZN was outbid by fight.tv for la liga rights.

DAZN must have went in low. Do wonder what kind of budget they are working with in the UK.

Because nobody wants their product to be on a streaming app, plain and simple.

Aside from football, each individual sport is quite a niche sport.

DAZN UK is failing because unless you’re a boxing fanatic you simply won’t pay just to watch 1 sport. I’m a fan of cricket, golf, F1 etc but not that much that I’d pay to subscribe to an app in order to watch one of them.

No doubt they went low. Remember sky won't even pay for la Liga anymore.

Surprised premier sports never hang onto it but maybe they see la Liga doesn't generate subs for them.

Not sure about that. Ufc is on DAZN in other regions so not like they are against being on a streaming service. Same with other sports that are on DAZN elsewhere.

The La Liga/Fite deal is rumoured to feature some games on ITV4 so unless a pay TV broadcaster came in with a high bid for exclusivity the rights holder would likely favour a mixture of pay/FTA coverage.

The value of La Liga rights have dropped dramatically given the way they have been passed around since leaving Sky.

DAZN is still eight quid a month for just boxing which in the average month is terrible value- you are much better off as a consumer dripping in and out as you wish.
