To be fair to Fury, whilst Cunningham wasn't a puncher he is CW Level and that right hand he dropped a squared up Fury who used to train down at Burger King back then with was literally the best punch he ever threw or could ever throw and he could only land a shot like that on a giraffe like Fury.

But, like I keep saying, it's a different ballgame when you're facing punchers because the slightest split second mistake can mean the difference between winning and losing or even becoming a meme. Hence why legit banger avoidance is a thing.

Case in point. Go check out the KO% of Conor Benn's opponents. There's a reason why E-Hearn keeps throwing him in with featherfists and light puncher every single time and he won't and he hasn't let him anywhere near a puncher yet. Because he knows that the gravy train can come to a grinding halt in the blink of an eye if he deviates from that path.

lol Okay Serge, in mounting a defense like that we need posters like you working for the “Whyteologists” (to borrow from @navigator new terminology).

My thesis is that both Wilder and Whyte hit hard, without going into who hits harder.. only one of them lands more punches more consistently and that’s Whyte.

From a variety of angles, up/down, body/head... watching Wilders last fight he literally resorted to throwing his 1-2 like a spear.. had nothing else to offer. Just desperately throwing the same combination hoping it lands.

And that's where I feel the difference lies, Fury got up from some devastating punches a couple of times per Wilder fight. Against Whyte that frequency would increase a lot should Fury choose to play the mid-range and go toe to toe.

And that’s how many feel he will fight rather than keeping it long and boring infront of 94K home fans who came to see fireworks and action.

    I acknowledge that Cunningham isn't a puncher

I also acknowledge that he was CW Level

And that it was the best punch he ever threw or could throw

He threw that shot from a different time zone FFS

It wasn't no Ugas love tap

The Bronze Dosser clearly hits harder than Whyte

I've always considered Whyte a big puncher

    All have excellent chins

    Wach
    Parker
    Chisora
    Allen

Povetkin did way back in his prime too

Fury will box the way he sees fit

    And rightly so

He should soften Whyte up by taking him to Gypsy Slick school in the first half of the fight and the spark his ass out cold in the second half

You arrive in this kind of style for your US debut and step up to CW Level

    Comedy gold

Get dropped from a HL reel KO right hand bazooka from hell early doors that would've wiped out the dinosaurs

Haul your ass off the canvas and proceed to beat the soul out of the body of your CW Level foe on their own soil

And then treat not only your fans and their fans in attendance (aka his new fans) by serenading them with the most beautiful rendition of ''Keep it between the lines''

Even later on I still consider Pov to have a good chin, he took some bombs from Whyte in both fights and still held on. Jumped early by Hunter who has a punch on him, and despite throwing the kitchen sink with maximum urgency Povetkin wasn’t phased.

Anyways, Saturday is coming close. I’m going to enjoy it for what it is... clash of styles and two guys coming in fully prepared.

lol the comedy gold for me was all that hype in presser, all that constant disrespect to Cunningham and belittling him but then getting knocked on his arse hard.

Seeing the smugness exit Fury in that manner went beyond comedy.

Povetkin who was already well past his prime took a lot of punishment in that fight though and it knocked a lot more stuffing out of him

Also Povekin gave up a lot of weight or weight and size to everyone who beat him and was a lot smaller (weight wise) than all the stout-chinned other fighters I mentioned

    For sure

I never heard truer words from anyone when cunningham said “only reason this dude [Fury] winning fights is because he’s big. Shrink him down to 6’3 6’2 and he is garbage”

very well said, I said it myself many times, if he was any smaller he would be a Hughie Fury.

The comedy gold was coming from Tyson's magical gypsy tongue

''I'll fight any man on the planet. I'm a fighting man. That's what I do. I'm not named after a battleship''

Yeah but Cunningham got put to sleep on his own soil after landing that haymaker from hell

Nothing better than putting a man to sleep on their own soil

Whyte needs to fight a bit like Povetkin here: crouch behind a tight guard letting them go while moving in and out of range. Needs a different game plan to his usual one or he'll be picked off and stopped. I reckon that's what happens anyway and Chisora is correct but anything Whyte can do different is going to up is chance.

Complete nonsense. Fury would be great regardless. Came out of Big John's sack

Remember when USS started bawling about Fury being a dirty fighter?

Coming from someone whose trainer also happened to be the longtime trainer of the dirtiest fighter in the game
