    I’m not sure I’d use the term funny, I think it’s more about a heavyweight upset. The unexpected KO of a fighter expected to win, particularly in this instance where Fury has risen each time to win (barring Wilder 1).

    That wasn't by choice... at all!
    The reason he had to fight Wlad in Germany was because he rapidly signed the contract he disagreed with after the pursebid had already been called. When he realized that he would be worse off because the pursebid would be lost for sure and it could even land in Russia as I remember correctly.
    Then he wasn't allowed for quite some time to fight in the UK, because after he had been banned, and needed to comply to a couple of stipulations to get cleared by the BBBoC, which he didn'twant to do.
    Then he went to the US, and landed in Wilder's backyard. He had to fight a beltholder again, and there was no other place as the US where this woild happen. He got moderately robbed, although some refs would have stopped him.
    Then the rematch, with Wilder still as the beltholder couldn't take place anywhere else as the US again.
    The 3rd match, Fury had to be dragged to court to comply.

    There was even speculation Fury wouldn't be able to get a licence in the UK for this one, but money talks, I guess. Fury's value has gone up trough the roof since his "comeback" and then you don’t have to comply to stipulations anymore.

    @Robney

    Any boxer will ideally prefer to fight on home turf. Those who travel do so because it is required of them in order to make fights. Fury went on the road because it was required of him in order to make fights. The whys and wherefores of the requirement are moot. He did what he had to do to make fights, then he won the fights.

    Good luck finding any traces of reluctance (or even apprehension) here

    But rationalizing to try and deduct credit from him is your thing, so, g'head. :lol:

    Those who bitterly resent Fury do so because he carries with him the air of one who has been chosen by destiny. It drives a certain type of person mad to witness such predestination, so they dedicate hours (even days, months) of their lives to praying for that spirit of God to desert him. Very, very sad.

    That's dumb aswell tho.. cherry picking Wilder? The guy was WBC champion for ****'s sake .. how's that a cherry pick? :lol:

    39 not 40.. hadn't lost in years .. Vitali was champion well into his 40s.. so it's not like you're totally shot at that age at HW, especially these days, I mean it's only a couple of years older than Usyk is now and he looks as good as ever.. Fury was a huge underdog.. & Wlad still clearly had something left because even after he basically came out oretirement and almost Knocked golden bollocks out cold

    Getting up after seemingly being knocked out cold in the 12th round of Wilder 1 after the inactivity, morbid obesity, drug abuse, depression etc. was also one of the iconic moments in heavyweight history.

    I do not hate Fury, but he is not an ATG in my book. Good fighter, maybe beats all HW greats that came before him. As a champ, he hasn't developed a resume that justifies ATG status. Fighting Wilder 3 times, ducking the Wlad rematch isn't that impressive.
