    Calm down, son.

    Nobody took to the hills.

Lennox retired as undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.

What butt-hurt are you talking about? I've regularly defended Lewis in the TKO 6 thread (and many for years previous). The question here is would Lewis win the rematch, and at 38, the fact he didn't fancy the rematch in spite of looking for other easy money fights, the answer is no, he wouldn't. He didn't have the drive to win that fight that late on in his career. He was already considering and looking towards retirement after the Holyfield fight and spoke of wanting to "enjoy the money I've earned and not get injured or beat up to the point i can't speak". After the first fight Lewis didn't want to take that risk again, I don't blame him of course, the fact remains though that if he really believed he'd win he would have taken the fight.

That doesn't make sense though. As you say yourself he was looking at retiring after Holyfield so it has nothing to do with belief and more to do with having one foot out of the door. The butt hurt comment wasn't specifically reffering to yourself but other people being unreasonable in just expecting Lewis to fight till he loses. I just don't think it is reasonable and I don't think him being 6 months older makes any difference.
I respect your viewpoint I just disagree with it.

The point I was making was When Wlad got those two KO losses Vitali immediately jumped up & challenged Wlad's conquerors. When Lennox beat Vitali where was Wlad ????? He was very quiet wasn't he LOL
He didnt want any part of Lennox that's for sure. If he had challenged Lennox he may well have accepted one more fight & not retired. He'd beaten Vitali while barely 80 % already

Do you know how daft that sounds?

Half the Klit-haters berate the brothers for avenging each other's losses and the rest of them berating them for not doing so.

Wlad had just had a loss to Corrie Sanders and was looking for a comeback fight.

Besides, Lennox had stated that he would give Vitali a rematch and that was what was expected to happen in the ensuing months. Lennox was 'taken' so to speak.

When it came time to talk turkey, Lennox retired rather than face Vitali in a rematch.

Wlad's name was never mentioned in regard to Lennox after TKO6.
Nobody was asking for that fight as everybody was hyped for the Vitali-Lennox rematch.

It doesn't sound like you were following the sport at that time.

Lennox only beat old, unproven and short guys. One of the most overhyped H2H guys I can think of. His best win is by a cut while he was being soundly outboxed. At the time he was a supposed H2H monster he was KOd twice. He never did what Ali or Wlad or Holmes or Louis did. I don't get it

Lennox didn’t have the fire left.

Before he fought Vitali, he was talking about the possibility of having another 3 fights. After the Vitali fight, he knew it was time to go.

There was no rematch for a reason.

Lewis had accomplished everything he had nothing to prove imo.
You can believe Vitali would win but TKO6 will forever exist.

I agree and have said that throughout. I'm just saying if that wasn't the case and after the first fight he would not leave it to chance.
