Vitali was clearly much more skilled than Wilder but Wilder is clearly much more powerful, longer and probably a lot faster (Wlad said that Wilder was extremely fast twice in the same sentence when asked about Wilder-AJ in 2018 and Wilder claimed that Wlad told him he was the fastest heavyweight he'd even been in a ring with).

If you can level your opponent with one shot at any time, that makes up for a lot of technical deficiencies. And when you have great speed, length and toughness (mental and physical) to add to that equation among other things, you become a H2H nightmare.

If Ruiz hadn't have had a Buster Douglas night against a vulnerable champ in AJ, no one would regard him as anything more than a fringe contender. Ross Puritty didn't become a "world class HW" just because he beat Wlad. Ruiz's 2nd most impressive performance is losing a controversial MD to Parker in NZ but Parker also has controversial MD's and SD's against Hughie and Chisora: are they also "world class HW's"? Aside from that it's competitive 10 and 12 round fights against washed up versions of Liakhovich, Kevin and Arreola. The mutual opponent of note is Arreola, who Stiverne was able to both school and brutally KO in his prime, displaying more to his overall game than I've seen from Ruiz.

When he steps up his competition, his KO ratio drops.

You’re just arguing for the sake of arguing.

Vitali was on another level to Wilder.

Regarding Ruiz, I’ve never claimed that he’s a great fighter. But he is a world class, top 10-20 level HW.

Duhaupas isn’t and never will be a legitimate world class HW.

When he steps up to Tyson Fury level his KO ratio drops but so does everyone's. And Wilder has come closer to KO'ing Fury in two fights than anyone else has in Fury's 32 fight career. Had Wilder caught Lewis or Wlad with the same shots he caught Fury with, they would have been knocked out cold and TKO'd respectively.

Wins over Charr and Helenius in Finland by KO would have made him top 20 and thus "world class" by your definition.

Not especially interesting, I've already made threads on Joshua-Ortiz, Louis-Wilder and Ali-Usyk. My argument isn't even that Stiverne probably beats a younger AJ, it's that he would be a live dog but I would favour Ortiz to beat AJ at least once.

It's easy to say "x would have made 10 consecutive defences against Wilder's opponents" but the names frequently mentioned were heavily favoured to beat the "journeymen" and "fringe contenders" they actually lost to.

Duhaupas - got a post-Wilder 6th round KO over a heavily favoured 22-0 Helenius in Finland (who 19 months and 3 fights later took AJ opponent Whyte the full 12 rounds in Britain on short notice and went on to get an 8th round KO over a heavily favoured Teper in Germany, a 4th round KO over an overwhelmingly favoured, then “top 10” 20-0 Kownacki in America and repeated the feat in 6 against a still heavily favoured Kownacki in the rematch).

3. Szpilka - got a post-Wilder win over former Klitschko world title challenger Wach, who 13 months and 3 fights later gave the “4th ranked” AJ opponent Whyte a competitive fight and took him the 10 round distance at 40+.

Arreola - 5 years and 3 fights after being schooled and retired by an injured Wilder in 8, coming off a defeat in a 12 round war against “top 10” Kownacki and after 21 months of inactivity/retirement at 40+, Arreola gave AJ-conqueror, former unified world champion and “7th ranked” Andy Ruiz a tough fight, hurt him multiple times, knocked him down in the 2nd and took him the full 12 rounds.

5. Washington - got a 2nd round KO over 7-0 southpaw Jerry Forrest (his only KO defeat in 32 fights) who has since given a past prime “top 10 ranked” AJ world title challenger Carlos Takam a competitive fight over the full 10 rounds and Forrest got unfortunate 10 round draws with Zhang and the then “9th ranked” Michael Hunter in a rematch. Revisionism works both ways and Wilder is the only man thus far to not exclusively lose to the “No.1 ranked” 31-0-1 world champion Fury.

9. Breazeale - “Top 10 ranked” AJ world title challenger when AJ stopped him in 7 but he went on to last less than 1 round with Wilder. Highlight reel one punch KO.

10. “6th ranked” Ortiz 2 - not quite as athletic, tough or confident at 40.66 as he was the first time when officially under 39 and 28-0 but still a very skilled, experienced and powerful southpaw. At an official 42.75 years old and virtually 25 months of inactivity removed from his 2nd KO loss to Wilder, a well past prime “8th ranked” Ortiz climbed off the canvas twice to hit the much improved former paper champion and "top 10 ranked" AJ opponent Charles Martin so hard that he had no idea where he was, or even who he was.

LOL Still trying to make a case for Fury being something he's not. Now all his opponents are world beaters, A level? Bunch of C level limited guys, toss in an old champ and a one dimensional power puncher and WHAM, instant ATG. Sorry, Fury is not an ATG. Unless ATG stands for (all those guts) from eating tainted boar intrals. He's probably juiced up good for this fight as well.

Wilder will struggle whenever he meets an excellent technical fighter who can nullify him.

Again, just tell me who out of Wilder’s 10 defences could/would realistically have beaten Tyson, Vitali and Lewis. Prime versions of them.
