Hearing a lot of people sounding very confident Usyk beats Fury but I think it would be a great fight. If you were to pick someone to beat Usyk, wouldn’t it be Tyson Fury? If not, who else?
Tyson as well as being very good also knows how to fight like a big man should and mauls Usyk before stopping him mid to late. I’ve said it before and il say it again,Usyk is class but at Heavyweight too much is being made of his win over Joshua who apart from fighting the wrong fight also has too many flaws to his game that Usyk could and did capitalise on.
I am not saying Fury beats him, I just really want to see the fight. If not Fury then I’m saying no one today beats Usyk. If pushed I would probably say Usyk beats Fury too. But really it’s 50/50.
Seems to be popular to diminish Usyk’s win over Joshua by criticising Joshua. To my only partially educated eyes though, that fight appeared to be of a much higher overall quality than any recent Fury fight. Wilder v Fury 3 was fun but even compared to how Joshua boxed against Usyk it looked like 2 drunks brawling. Not sure if this is a particularly spicy take or not.
If Fury boxes long, I like his chances much more vs Usyk. The version from tonight I think beats Usyk from the AJ fight 7/10
Fury beats Usyk. A great big man beats a great little man. Both are levels above everyone else, hope we see this one.
Fury beats him. Some of you need to get a grip, the bloke is a generational heavyweight. Usyk aint a heavyweight.
Usyk isn't beating Fury ffs.. Joshua was pathetic in that fight… Moved in straight lines , flat footed, pawed with a tepid jab and barely threw the right hand, he barely faints or has any upper body movement either.. Plus I think he's mentally wrecked a bit these days… Him and fury are chalk and cheese.. Usyk would get hammered by Fury , i'm a huge fan of his but Stylistically fury would be a nightmare for him.. he had his way with Joshua because Joshua doesn't even know his own identity as a boxer , I mean even in his 30s he's trying to work out who he is.. he doesn't know how to use the ring still either .. fury simply wouldn't allow the Ukrainian to dictate the pace of the fight like Joshua did.
If Fury doesn't take on the Usyk-Joshua winner in due course, I'll be the harshest critic of that decision. But it's not going to happen. He will be back and he will fight that man, whichever of them it is. Reality is, most of these Usyk boys (with a few standup exceptions) are turning their undergarments into fudge factories at the thought of that fight. They want Fury to permamently retire. They don't want Usyk to actually have to tackle that behemoth in real life. They will much rather hang their hats on the idea of Fury ducking the guy for evermore. They were praying for the World's Heavyweight Champeen to get KTFO by a contender last night. Those guys are hilariously jealous and on edge right now. They really need to get things into perspective. Their boy came into the pro ranks on a wave of amateur plaudits and lofty expectations. Fury is something different altogether. For those of us who can remember the implausibly lanky 'gyppo' just barely out of his teens, with his old soul, his baby fat, his homespun philosophical pearls and his Errol Flynn hair warming up those 2Fast hands in his dressing room at the Nottingham Arena moments before making his professional bow all the way back in December of 2008, who ignored the heckling, who rode the potholes and bumps and kept the faith through the long, long road of catcalls, ridicule, naysaying, self-uppercutting, knockdowns, suicidal breakdowns, discipline fluctuations, lesser talents being used as sticks to beat him, endless forecasts of his impending downfall, his near-death at the hand of Wilder, et cetera, to see him emerge as the sport's one and only true rock star is a buzz those guys will never get close to experiencing in following Usyk's career. Usyk is a great guy. Amusing, charming, talented, modest, accomplished, a model professional, has cut an almost flawless path through the pro ranks thus far, all of that. But his big ride is still a dry handjob by comparison to the Tyson Fury Experience. Being an OG Fury believer, having followed from there to here, is like your favorite movie actress or supermodel giving you a lapdance followed by the sloppy hummer of your life before cowgirling the very soul out of you. There's simply no comparison. Usyk, for all his talent and accolades, is ultimately just another bare butt in the shower with a pass to Canastota. Fury is a Biblical event — the IBHOF needs him to induct the IBHOF, he doesn't need no IBHOF to induct him. It shouldn't make them so salty. They should be able to reconcile it and behave magnanimously. But it does, and they can't.
Don't agree with your take but love the way you write. But Usyk fans scared of the thought of him fighting Fury. No, we relish the thought.
