Has any boxer ever gone from feather fisted to powerful as Fury has?

Anyone who understands physics would automatically (by default) wouldn't consider heavyweights as feather fisted.

As has been said, I don’t think he was ever feather fisted, he just never put his weight and his strength behind his punches

it was more of a slick, constantly moving speed arm-punching style boxer

but now the Knonk training has been putting more of his weight and strength behind his punches

    and with very good results

    Hozumi Hasegawa?

Povetkin also became a massive one punch knockout artist after the Wlad fight. Prior to that he was a feather fisted combination puncher that struggled to take out a shot Rahman he had multiple free shots on and was going the distance with the likes of Nicolai Firtha and Jason Estrada.

Yeah, as many people have pointed out it's mostly a stylistic change that has given Fury his 'newfound' power. I don't deny that some, ah, assistance might have benefitted him, but it's easy to see he's putting way more mustard on his shots nowadays. Even if you're feather fisted, being as big as he is he's going to do some damage.

    Chris Byrd?

Really depends on your style though. If you spend the whole night on the backfoot playing pattycake with the opponent's lead hand and pecking away with arm punches that afford you the least commitment to getting countered then you're obviously not going to have a ton of KOs.

He was never feather fisted. He just boxed more earlier in his career. The Wilder fights and Sugar Hill have transformed him more into a fighter who uses his speed and power, doesn't dance around as much.

Fury didn’t all of a sudden become a power puncher, with his size just sitting down on punches is enough. Also Whyte is chinny as hell

PEDvetkin was known as a 'bonecrusher' even at the time of being an amateur. So, always could punch quite well
If you look at his record, during the 'German' era before he faced Wlad, he didn't have that many KOs against high-level opposition. His KOs almost evaporated as well during the 'Brtish' era, when he mainly fought in the UK in the Eddie shows. Most of the highlight reel KOs came at his time fighting in Russia with PEDs and against hand-picked opposition wearing sneackers lol. My point is PEDvetkin always could punch well, but PEDs and P*tin certainly helped.

Is he that powefull though ?

I'm sure he's hitting harder than he has before but doubt he's the bomber they are making out.

He beat wilder with volume not a single punch. Whyte has been flattened before with an uppercut and has a shot chin so can we read much into furys power based on that ? Not too sure but every hw can punch so.

Junior Witter was 15-0 with only 4 stoppages when he fought Judah. After that fight he realised he couldn't win at that level with defence alone and then became one of the most feared punchers in the division with 15 consecutive stoppages.

That was who I was thinking about

    Another is Junior Witter
He used to box and later started going for stoppages
When he fought Judah he was 15-0-2 with 3 inside the distance wins
He then stopped his next 15 opponents
