I know I will get backlash on that, but for me it's clear fury is ducking alexander the great usyk. Usyk is the worst possible style match up for fury. Fury is smart enough to walk away, that why he always says every dog has its day.
He looks at usyk and sees an once in generation great boxer with great speed, atg fight brain, technical and skilled southpaw with an exceptional gas tank and defense. He knows he is to slow for usyk and will look like a clumsy fighter against him, because usyk imo would outbox fury quite clearly. Fury lost some speed and of course his body is damaged from the up and downs.

Joshua is also a quite difficult challenge for fury even if everyone talks **** about him

I agree, you never get the feeling he wanted to fight Usyk. He starts lashing out whenever Usyk is brought up to downplay him.
But he goves of a vibe where he wants nothing to do with Usyk.

With that in mind the sudden retirement is possibility to duck Usyk in case he wins.
I feel if AJ wins he will come back for one final fight vs the guy.

Its like he wants to go down as this mythical undefeated fighter rather than actually be undisputed.
Why else the sudden talk about Khabib did it right and how Wlad and Roy Jones should have retires sooner?

The AJ and Usyk in their fight looked far better than these two lumbersome neanderthals.

If he Is (Which he Isnt) AJ Is a better competitor based on the fact he took the fight and the rematch.

Tbf if Fury does really retire Usyk vs AJ is for the number 1 spot in the division so either way Usyk will be king.

Fury won't be able to resist fighting the winner of Usyk vs AJ, i don't think Fury is frightened of any man, but the lure of ending his career now undefeated must be tempting.

You guys have short memories. Fury isn't retiring it seems after every fight recently he says he might retire. Half of what he says is just to make headlines. I'm sure when the fight is offered he'll accept.

I think both Usyk and AJ beat Fury

AJ actually boxed well vs Usyk, shown decent foot movement and didnt get hit clean that many times while landing goof stuff on Usyk too and setting some traps against the master of traps in Usyk

I can't see how anyone can say that?

Fury was tied in to fight Wilder and Usyk was chasing the Joshua fight which looks set for a rematch
Usyk went up to HW and hasn't to my knowledge looked for the Fury fight and Fury was tied in to the Wilder fight

Wife Paris says he'll fight Usyk or Dosh for the big one so he ain't retiring just yet. He's also taking on Ngannou next by the look.

What is interesting on ESB is how people look at results and make assumptions but I notice it isn't happening here
I haven't seen it said re below for example
Usyk had a much tougher fight with a faded Chisora than Fury had with a prime Chisora

He might 'retire' just to get paid a bit more to 'come out of retirement'.

Or he might retire to spend time with his wife and six kids. Stranger things have happened but I doubt it.

He's not ducking Usyk if he retires.
Because he's not even obliged to fight Usyk. He could easily duck Usyk and carry on fighting. He could also easily schedule another fight soon, while Usyk is still tied up. That couldn't even be called a duck.
It's silly to say he'd go to the lengths of 'retiring' to duck a guy who isn't even available or mandated to fight. He could easily get away with ducking Usyk and fighting other opponent or two for a foreseeable number of months.

It's perhaps more likely that 'retiring' would be aimed at getting the Usyk fight made, a way of stalling any efforts to put him in with another Whyte-level challenger in the meantime. I'm not saying that's what it is, but it makes more sense than him retiring to duck Usyk at this particular point in time.

I don't want say fury is ducking usyk..cos fury retires all the time..but if he does actually retire instead if taking that fight....it is a monumental duck
