If it was Sky would have properly doubled it up with Marshall v Shields and put it in a stadium in the UK or Ireland. UK & Ireland v America.
The fighters know it, Earn knows it, Maya Jama knew it, Warden knows it - DAZN UK has been an absolute flop so far. Game changed - yes out of sight, out of mind for the great British public.
Can’t be because DAZN have a solid subscription base. I pile he the same if he was on BBC that’s like anything. If promoted well then he’d have a profile which he has.
Benn already had a profile from birth, built well on Sky Sports and let's see what happens when Earn starts building fighters who have never been on any other broadcaster.
That doesn't matter though does it as nobody subscribes to DAZN or maybe just maybe the people who liked watched Benn on sky sports continue watch him on DAZN?
They may have a solid subscription base, we just don't know what they have as they won't reveal any numbers. By not saying anything we just get speculation good and bad. Great numbers for Benn no doubt but how about some numbers for Josh Warrington vs Kiko for example. How they compare to his sky fights
Will never reveal numbers. It’s boxing fans that want that. DAZN currently have well over 11 million world wide subscribers. it’s a global business not a UK
We have a huge global market of 8 billion people on the planet and DAZN UK can only get 11 million subs including 171 in the UK Looking more like the soon to be over Little Mix than Netflix
A global market of 8 billion? Where do you get this nonsence from? What reality do you live in where every person on the planet becomes a customer?
If you start quoting global subscribers then it is only right to give it context against the global population. I heard there are places in Africa where hundreds of people gather round a solar powered laptop to watch Connor Benn fight stiffs on DAZN UK.
Or maybe you just look at what countries they actually operate in rather than every inch of the actual planet. Using your ridiculous logic would mean 1 mil buys last night would be terrible as there are 70 million people in the UK so 69 million didn't buy it. Forget how many actually had access to buy it or how many are actual adults just look at the total number of the population against the number of buys to determine what is a good number. Sounds stupid because that's what it is.
Last night, the Box Office buyers will be about 10% of the number who watched live for a variety of reasons including watching in bars. Your man Trafford quotes 11 million Global DAZN subscribers but the silence on UK numbers clearly indicates the figure is very low. Without a rich backer throwing money away, DAZN UK is the next eleven sports UK losing money. The boxing on DAZN UK is out of sight, out of mind to the UK public and as I already stated more the outdated Little Mix than Netflix.
Hearn has been riding high for a number of years but he's clearly made a huge error of judgement by leaving Sky and DAZN has been massive flop in the UK. I'm not sure how or why anyone could try and argue otherwise.
Could be but having numbers would help determining that rather than "none of my friends subscribe" anecdotals.
