Does Canelo going for more belts almost go against the spirit of boxing?

So Edwin Valero has a case for GOAT? Or for being the most dominant ever? 27-0 27 Kos.

Fighting the champs is cherry picking?

Too many belts is one of the biggest problems in the sport. With 8 belts in every division, "fighting a champion" gives you an excuse to avoid what might be a more competitive match-up.

If you believe his competition faced warrants that high of praise, go right on ahead.

Hey princess, question for you. Is Bivol a cherrypick?

I'm not a Canelo fan at all in the slightest, but lets say he beats Benavidez and moves up is he then ducking Berlanga? If he beats Bivol then fights Beterbiev is he ducking Ramirez? I'm not sure why everyone is so high on Benavidez yes he is strong and long but his best win is Ronald Gavril so in no shape or form does he deserve a shot at Canelo. As for the question why would anyone have an issue with a boxer picking up all the belts to prove he is the best?

I give Thson Fury a good chance at beating Canelo if he works on his uppercut.

Most elite fighters should follow Canelo's example, it would make boxing a better sport to follow.

That’s not what you said though. “You judge what happens in the ring. Not what doesnt happen or what you wish would happen.” It’s clearly a lot more complicated than just what happened in the ring. Who did you face and at what point in their careers did you face them. Canelo grabbing the 68 belts isn’t impressive because they were all undefeated which is what most Canelo fans point to. When asked about why not face the other title holders at 160, they will say those guys need to fight each other. That conflicts with 168. None of those guys fought each other. If he’s not going to defend at 168 and move up to 175 just to grab titles and bounce like Manny did at 154, or Jones at heavyweight, what really makes it impressive? Being a champion is about more than just winning it. A champion needs to defend his titles too. This era is so focused on undefeated records and division hopping that it ruins many potential matchups. So by saying “You judge what happens in the ring. Not what doesnt happen or what you wish would happen” is leaving out alot of matter in between.

As far as I know Canelo vs GGG 3 is going to be for Canelo's undisputed title.

After (including?) Canelo, GGG has the best win of the last two years from 160-175. He's also shown that he's an unsolved stylistic problem for the gingerbread man and retains his one-punch KO power.

It would be great see Benavidez vs Canelo but DB has only himself (and some absurd early pandemic infection control measures) to blame. As an aside, I do think he got a raw deal and should be at least the WBC mandatory but I don't think that case is going to be revisited.

It's basically a variation on the Floyd method.
Floyd didn't have to fight mandatories, because he was "above that". Canelo doesn't have that incredible advantage, so he doesn't defend but just belthops.
That way he keeps full control, and never has to fear fighting a top guy at his peak in a hostile environment.

No doubt. Canelo is side stepping the traditional route and just making the whole sport his playground. Every once in a while we get a tough fight out of him

Guess you haven't watched both much. Fair enough Bivol is a Russian trained fighter but he tries to get in and out. Benavidez fights like that and he can push you back more versatile, hits harder longer reach etc.

It's simple. Benavidez is the best because he hardly fights. If Canelo was to beat him, Benavidez would instantly become a cherry pick and Canelo would be accused of ducking Saunders, Smith or whoever else was out there chirping at the time of the fight
