Firstly TUE exist for a reason and have to be sanctioned. Secobdly there is zero evidence that one has been isssued to AJ.

 

I believe so.. I don’t have anything to back it up unfortunately. It’s been talked about on here a fair amount.. I appreciate this makes me a very poor source !

 

The quandary of resumes lol..

If Usyk AJ can't be made (for a variety of reasons) I'd like to see Wilder AJ... I'm sure they can make the fight a 50/50 now with Eddie Hearn opening at 88/12 and going up to 75/25 (clearly didn't want the fight)

Before the AJ hardcores start mentioning the interview where Wilder stated that he ducked AJ to fight Fury, the actual conversation was that he honoured his agreement with Fury rather then taking the under split with AJ..

 

I think the big thing often not accounted for, although it has been on this thread, is that Joshua has been the home fighter in every single fight. That includes MSG and Saudi.

In Fury’s biggest fights (Klitschko, Wilder x3 and Whyte) he was a true home fighter just once. It’s a huge competitive advantage to have.

 

I'm a Fury fan, he's better than Joshua and he has the better wins especially when you consider the context behind all them fights both have fought.

However, I hope Joshua makes the necessary improvements along with using his physicality to beat Usyk. I want to see Fury v Joshua. Yes, he's got a very annoying promoter behind him. He is Mr Cliché, he is a media machine and all that but credit to the lad. Took up boxing very late, learnt on the job, did brilliant at the Olympics even if he hadn't have got a gold (i know he did), getting to that final is still impressive imo. He could have gone down a certain path in life but instead carved out a career for himself. Fair play to him.

What I'm saying is, it doesn't have to be Fury or Joshua. These promoters want to create a 'him' or 'him' thing to generate more revenue etc. They're both British lads, very different people, both very flawed and both uniquely different in styles.

We're so lucky to have a few British lads in the conversation for number 1 heavyweight instead or borrowing Canadians etc. There's Joyce as well whom I think is very deserving of a world title shot. Sorry for rattling on.

 

The whyte win is certainly making his resume more credible

For me he still needs to beat another 2 or 3 top 10 opponents to really cement his legacy.

Or at least beat usyk

I'd still say Joshua's resume is better.

 

I don’t understand why people go on about resumes so much, specially when talking about Fury and Joshua.

I’m pretty sure each week a new person starts a thread debating the same topic featuring the same arguments.

Fury has the better standout wins, Joshua arguably has slightly greater depth, but even that is debatable as fighters like Povetkin and Pulev were old and had already had suffered defeats.

 

Soon as I saw you rated Wilder below Chisora and Whyte I knew you were a hater.

No Wallin either.

The McDerrmott fight was only his 8th and he avenged it by TKO. That was actually a very hard fight to be taking so early in his career.
