Does Canelo going for more belts almost go against the spirit of boxing?

Benavidez has good power and quick hands, good stamina. But he's extremely easy to counter. Bivol and Canelo are both more than capable of handling his power and his work rate. Canelo and Bivol are both very capable counter punchers and Benavidez doesn't have the brains to box without giving either guy ample opportunity to make him pay in nearly every exchange.

I'm sorry but did you watch Bivol vs Craig Richards? I had Bivol winning pretty much every round but he struggled with the size of Richards. Benavidez would destroy Bivol.

Also he'd batter Canelo too. One thing I can see in Benavidez what I could always see in Fury is the heart not many fighters have it. Benavidez is a big, fast boxer definitely a step above Bivol.

Benavidez hardly fights? He’s fought 25 times at age 25. 3 more than Plant at age 29 and only 7 times less than Charlo who is 32. Spence is 32 with 28 fights. Where do you get that Benavidez hardly fights? Saunders is 32 with 31 fights. Callum Smith is 32 with 29 fights. Fielding had 30 fights at age 32 when he fought Canelo. Can you please explain in further detail what you mean that Benavidez hardly fights? He seems to be on the same trajectory as everyone else.

    Did you watch that fight?

I rate Bivol but Benavidez just has that bit extra. Canelo I'll give him his dues I'm a big fan but I think the size, youth, heart and hunger will tip it in David Benavidez's favour.

Bivol struggled massively, but he's much more impressive than Benavidez so far in their careers.

Benavidez hasn't come close to what Bivol did against Smith Jr

Sullivan Barrera beat Smith Jr only 2 fights prior to that. Not saying Bivol isn't good because he is and technically very sound but I personally think Benavidez has a bit more than him. I still had Bivol winning nearly every round but there were a lot of tight ones vs. Richards and someone like Kovalev or Beterbiev would have just got him out of there.

Sullivan Barrera is another victory Bivol looked excellent in.

Benavidez just hasn't proven himself really.

Had he been able to make weight he'd have had a fight with Canelo by now.

Bivol might be the most difficult opponent he could have faced below CW, so I can't see any fault with that fight. My main concern is that Beterbiev is getting on in age, so a fight with him should happen ASAP. GGG is really a waste of time at this stage. There's plenty of time for Benavidez and that fight might be better at LHW.

    Indeed.

Fighting for world titles in two different categories in the SAME BOUT...

But the authorities should never have allowed that to happen. What a joke.
