See a lot of threads and talk about Fury versus Whyte and "The Push" When I saw the uppercut land and Whyte become disoriented I was bracing myself mentally for a savage knock out. A knock out like Gatti v Gamache, where Gamache froze and Gatti let his hands fly with bad intentions. For those new to boxing: This content is protected Take one second to image Six foot Nine, two hundred sixty plus pound Tyson Fury letting his hands go with bad intentions as Whyte is stunned there. I believe the push was due to Fury knowing and feeling how the punch landed, knowing that Whyte was out on his feet and a personal decision not to permanently damage Whyte. How the punch landed: https://m.imgur.com/5Bz3EgP Am I alone in this belief? Thoughts?
The push was a reflex to create space..... foreman used to do it all the time, Lewis did it to Tyson. There’s no conspiracy or deeper meaning LOL
He pushed of knowing that's the cheap and easy way to get a knockdown if the other guy wasn't going down on his own. I've seen it before, can't come up with an example but I've seen it recently. Whyte was concussed; you can tell from his eyes that he was gone. Legit knockdown but the push looked a bit dirty to me and unnecessary.
Wilder got a knockdown on Fury by hitting the back of his head and pulling him down, whilst he was already severely hurt, probably the most hurt he's been in his career. Fury didn't complain he just sat on the canvas debating what round he should knock him out in. Wlad literally got knockdowns with pushes and no punches Whyte should suck it up. Fury saved him from doing a silly leg dance.
I would like to concur with your belief and say Fury was showing benevolence, however i too believe that Fury was creating distance for a follow up punch if required. Lucky for Whyte another punch did not arrive, that would caused a shutting down of Whytes neuro system for a while.
He pushed him away because a big glob of spittle/snot flew out of Whyte's mouth when the uppercut landed and it was heading towards his face like a rocket
It's an easy way to have a punch scored as a knockdown....hit the guy,,he's off balance, push him and he's on the floor. Boom...knockdown and you get a 10-8 round. It's sound strategy. I don't need to come of anything. When you start watching more boxing you'll see it more often.
How is the push even a thing LOL… Somehow this thing has got legs and it is ridiculous , the guy was knocked the **** out clearly… who cares if he gave him a little shove to help him on his way..
