Lewis was a great but was always disappointed that he did not rematch Vitali - he knew the torch was passing and done the sensible thing. That uppercut to Vitali would have flattened anyone else - the best chin in boxing made in Kiev.
Another factor is that AJ would be shitting it from furys kronk gym welded power. He's scared of getting hit now and really tenses up.
The ease in which Fury beat Whyte makes the Joshua fight waaay less interesting unless Joshua somehow beats Usyk. To be fair though Joshua was toying with Whyte in their fight too, he just momentarily let emotions get the better of him
One of the lads that sparred them both recently told me that AJ is sharp, fast and powerful but slightly robotic, Fury is much more fluid and unpredictable. He sees Fury beating him if they fought but said AJ has a very good chance of causing an upset with his power and speed. I’d like to see Fury in a competitive fight, I think both Usyk and AJ would be competitive and both have a real good chance of beating him. Usyk AJ Winner fighting Fury, loser fighting Wilder.. That would be the best scenario for me..
Joshua is serious challenger to Fury but Fury is always going to be bit too smart and bit too good for him. Even if Joshua came at his absolute most peak. Fury never would take the man lightly. The question on Joshua is can he get past Usyk? Or even more: can he lose to Usyk again without physically stopped or mentally melted?? These are the tasks for him currently. Difficult times for him.
I think AJ and Usyk are both competitive with Fury - people get carried away. They both ask him a lot of questions but that said, I think he finds the answers and beats the pair of them. But we NEED to see it. He has to fight the winner, which I think he will. And like you say.... the loser v Wilder is also a great fight. If that is the case I see it being Fury v Usyk and Wilder v AJ - both brilliant fights.
100% agree. AJ isn’t as bad as some on here make out but his awful stamina would hinder him, Fury is a born 12 round fighter. also AJ seems no where near as confident as he once was, how would his confidence be after a full media tour with fury bashing him 24/7.
Unless you have Wilder esk power and reach the best chance of beating Fury is if you are quick, with great footwork, feints and have a great engine and are unorthodox. That sums up Usyk, who is only one who will give an on point Fury a real fight. Still think Fury beats him.
Shame we probably just have to have threads like this in the future. In an ideal world Joshua beats Usyk, Fury takes one last fight and we get to see what actually happens.
You can write as much detail as you want about Fury vs Joshua but simply put the reality of it is short and sweet,Joshua gets KOed
There's not only a gulf in ability. There's now a gulf in confidence. Fury fights with utmost confidence, Joshua fights scared. 3 years ago I'd have made this 50:50 now I have it 90:10 Fury.
