When he did it to Forrest in their 2nd fight, it completely ruined Forrest confidence. The first fight you can argue that Mayorga caught him with a good shot and Forrest never recovered, the 2nd fight Forrest was completely demoralized. Don't think Forrest ever recovered from that humiliation despite having a solid career post Mayorga.

When Mayorga did it to Trinidad, Mayorga took the first left hook well but the 2nd left hook really bothered Mayorga and Trinidad knew it, he fought sluggishly for the rest of the fight, I'm surprised he took that much punishment in the fight and still manage to have a career after.

Mayorga was crazy.

He’d have laughed at Floyd’s power and goaded him at every opportunity.

Floyd would had to have been extremely cautious.

Floyd could never have knocked him out.

1. He didn’t possess the power.

2. He’d never have fought Mayorga aggressively.

Mosley was in better form against Floyd than Mayorga, old chap.

 

Mayorga was also 4 years past his prime when he fought Mosley, Mayorga's prime was when he stopped Lewis in 2002. Right up until he got stopped by Trinidad in 2004. Mayorga was never quite the same after the Trinidad loss, and that was also at Middleweight.

I think people are slightly underrating Mayorga, just because of his losses later in his career. For a 2 year period in Mayorga's career, he was very dangerous despite his lack of skill. He had an iron chin and a aggressive awkward style, that was not easy to deal with in his prime. He took Forrest's shots pretty easily, and Forrest had big power in his right hand, just look what he did to Mosley, no one ever hurt Mosley like that who also had a solid chin and was durable.

Yes Mayweather is way more skilled than Mayorga, but Mayweather was also way more skilled than Maidana and he still give him issues. I don't think anyone here is saying Mayorga would beat Mayweather, but i don't think it's an outlandish opinion, to think a prime Mayorga gives Mayweather issues especially at 154.

I saw enough in those fights to see no way Mayorga would win.

I don't think he has an agenda on hating Mayweather, it's more directed at the people saying Mayweather would destroy Mayorga and KO him. I think it's a slight exaggeration saying Mayweather would stop a prime iron chinned Mayorga, when Mayweather has only stopped 3 fighters at above 140, and one of them was hitting a relaxed unprepared Ortiz. Which i blame Ortiz for by the way but you get my point.

I don't think anyone realistically thinks Mayorga beats Mayweather, but i don't think it's a crazy opinion to think a prime Mayorga might give him some issues.
