This curiosity has found a broadcast home for those of us with spectating interest: online PPV courtesy of Fire TV.
FITE TV. Here's the link for those who are interested: https://www.fite.tv/watch/sons-of-legends-morrison-vs-rahman/2pb4a/ I will most definitely be getting this interesting matchup!
...yes, Fite TV, which is what I actually typed, but didn't account for the meddlesome auto-correct on my stupid Android.
30 dollars!?!? Also i had to do a double take, Gerald McClellan Jr is fighting and he's actually the son of Gerald McClellan? Not that he's gonna go anywhere turning pro at 33
That **** drives me crazy - which is why I try as much as possible to interact with this site on my computer if I can! Perhaps we can use this thread for a Round by Round on Friday!
I might be game for it... Got excited for a second upon seeing an event start time of 10:30pm EST with the price listed as "free" - but then realized that is just the "countdown show". The actual PPV starts at 11 and costs thirty bucks. That's a hard maybe for me. The co-feature is decent, pitting Keith Norman-Robert Hunter (younger brother of current HW contender Mike Hunter Jr., and son of the original 90's heavyweight contender Mike Hunter - and like his dad and sibling, also nicknamed "The Bounty") against unbeaten yet untested Demarius Driver, and third-billed is Hasim Rahman's other kid (this one named Sharif Hasim instead of Hasim Sharif...very creative! ) but otherwise the card is total dreck.
See, I absolutely love this sort of nostalgia ****. I am fully aware that the skill level is somewhere on the level of the old USA Tuesday night fights shows I used to watch back in the 80s and 90s, maybe even lower - and that these fighters are just milking the last few bucks they can get out of daddy's name But you know what? I don't care!! I expect that these are mediocre fighters, who maybe can produce an entertaining matchup or two. So, yeah, I'll be watching!
Funnily enough I being a big GMan fan I was following G Man jr back in the day on youtube, mindyou this is back like more than a decade and he was undefeated in 9 amateurs fights and covered in tats and training with uncle Donnie Penelton in garage’s. He dropped off without trace and I never heard of him until now. I suspect he had trouble with the law.
This is the G-Man jr article I was talking about. And it s from 2009…. https://amp.wickedlocal.com/amp/65319798007
I wouldn't even paid to see the originals. Two of the worse"heavyweight champs" I can remember. The sons dreadful
Say what you want about Tommy Morrison but the guy was never in a boring fight he either KOed someone or got KOed. Hasim Rahman provided us with some epic episodes of Shattered Glass.
Those are very generous uses of "decent" and "otherwise" I would not have expected this card to generate such interest. RJJ's promotion has this intense cynicism to it. He knows all of our darkest, most prurient interests in the sport.
