This question is asked of every prime dominant heavyweight in their time.

People asked the same about Lewis and Waldo. The answer, like it was for them before him, is yes.

Fury would have beat Wlad. Wlad had a glass jaw. Yes he learned to protect it but if you are faster than him, like fury you can outpoint him or KO him. Fury would have some trouble with Lewis who was the best fighter of that era. He beat Vitali and would have KO'd Wlad. A lot.
Young Ali would also be a problem for him. But otherwise he's do fine and maybe win every time

Somewhat competitive maybe, against some of the greats of yesteryear. To leave it at "he's amazing in this generation", while true, flatters to deceive, as it omits the fact that his era is among the most barren in the division's history (and yes, I realize the mouthful that is, considering the many lean times), so he is clearing a very low hurdle being comparatively amazing.

This of course is predicated on Wilder and Joshua being his nearest peers, as has been the case for most of his time on top. If we accept Usyk as one, that changes things a bit, as Usyk could himself be a generational talent (and IMO would run the gauntlet against today's heavyweights undefeated and is clearly the h2h çock of the walk), but the fact that he is so newly jumped up and has only fought the one actual elite sort of makes it awkward. More so if Fury really does intend on retiring without facing him - or if, less his fault, the situation in Ukraine tragically sees Usyk eliminated from the conversation.

Not sure, is up to him if he wants to retire soon but it would be nice to see how he handles Usyk whose quite skilled. He beats most of the current heavyweights, but I want to see those fights happen nonetheless.

We aren't going to get another 6'9 foot giant like him any time soon.

    Yes of course.

I mean, is this even a conversation? Douglas beat Tyson, Rahmen beat Lewis. Moore beat Holyfield. Young Beat Foreman. Norton beat Ali. Spinks beat Holmes.

Are you telling me Fury wouldn't be competitive?

Was thinking about this during Teddy Atlas's evaluation of Furys performance vs Whyte. Teddy said Fury won by using his jab to control distance and keeping Whyte s eyes looking up until he came from below with the uppercut. Teddy also pointed out you don't have to have a longer reach to outjab a guy, mentioned Mike Tyson as a smaller reach guy who out jabbed bigger guys.

Reharding a nemesis, and keeping the jab in mind, I propose Larry Holmes as Furys nemesis. Holmes had the best or at least one of the best jabs in HW history, and if he could control the space between he and Fury then it would mean Fury would be in a lot of trouble. Plus Holmes had no issue with a guy who moved till he met M Spinks, and he got robbed innthe second fight.

Also, Joe Louis's right hand would put Fury to sleep....yes, he had a more accurate right than Wilder and he'd certainly land it on Fury a lot I believe.

Ali would psychologically destroy Fury before the fight started.

Lennox Lewis would at least be competitive and so would Vitali Klitchko.

So, Ali, Mike Tyson, Louis, Holmes, Lewis and V Klitchko are in my opinion the most likely not to lose to Fury and be favored against him.

He beats everyone else most of the time. I'd love to see him against Primo Carnera, two giants.

A prime, mentally fine Usyk is competitive vs Fury, and most likely wins most of the time. We need to see how Usyk is holding up with the "special operation " going on.

Few of those ''greats'' seemed to have any defence, so it wouldn't be too hard for Fury to win decisions, all things being fair judging wise.

And whatever Fury has or hasn't taken PED wise, he is nowhere near the chemical cocktail of those boxers in the 80s/90s etc.
If he had the stuff Holyfield etc. were on, his physique would look like Wlad's above the waistline and he would become Super Fury and destroy these fighters pretty easily.

I don't consider Fury nearly as skilled as any of the past greats, but he knows his large frame and knows how to use it effectively. I think he would be dangerous against any heavyweight that ever lived.

Now as far as a achievements, he is severly lacking compared to past greats and would like to see him fight Usyk and AJ to stamp his place higher amongst the ATGs.

A point I would try to make if it wasn't like arguing with a mule. Great fighters are made from beating good fighters. If you had to beat a great to be a great then nobody would have that distinction.

Of course he'd be competitive. Fury has the potential to beat them all with his size and skill plus fighting instinct. Obviously wouldn't happen though.

Fury has only had 33 fights and talking of retiring. He hasn't been what you would call a full time fighter throughout his career. If he'd have had say over 50 Pro fights, there would be losses on his record. It would be very interesting to see how Fury would deal with a loss.

Of course....He sheer sizes and reach give him a chance against anyone ever.
That and the fact he can actually box. He can use that size, He can move well and his chin is OK, his powers of recovery are excellent and he has good power.

He's a handful for anyone. Does he beat them all? That's a different question.

No. His level of competition doesnt suggest that. Taking nothing away from Fury, achieved great things but lets be honest his level of comp has been poor bar Wilder.
