Happening in 2 days and one of the biggest boxing events ever…….accrording to Eddie Hearn. Yet there isn’t one thread on it here.
It would be bigger if dazn was on sky. It would be hard to avoid. Even if it was on ppv. I still can't get over boxing fans wanting matchroom to go to dazn. It's been as terrible as I feared.
It should be a decent main event but I'm struggling to find the buzz for it. Smith/Vargas will steal the show in my opinion, that's got the makings of a classic.
Have seen Matchroom FC getting excited on twitter, but barring that I don't know anyone who caresless about it. It has clearly done a lot of tickets so their is an appetitite for it but I cannot say I have any interest.
No real interest from me, I haven't seen serrano fight I don't think and never taken to Taylor. As somebody said Matchroom FC seem to be excited for it some even ranking it above Stevenson v Valdes! Crazy
Like Taylor but she has looked like a loss waiting to happen for a couple of years now. Hope she wins but see Serrano is now bookies favourite. Will happily wait for highlights online the next day.
I posted something about this yesterday on another thread. With Sky they have multiple channels and can easily push their events through adverts and drum up plenty of media interest, they have Smith and Nelson giving interviews on all the various IFTV type YouTube channels. I've been surprised at the complete lack of a promotional stratagy from DAZN in general. They could easily assemble a team of specialists that can make good, frequent content to push their product. As an example, I watch a bit of F1 and I always seem to get Mclaren's content appearing on my feed, they do frequent features like "unboxed" which is behind the scenes type content, they do interviews, challenges with their drivers, they are active on Twitter and really make a good effort pushing their brand. DAZN and Matchroom seem to be just Hearn giving the odd interview to IFTV and that's about it. No wonder their fights don't drum up much attention.
Hope Katie wins but she is on the slide. It's a big fight (rightly so), but nowhere near us big as Hearn says. He also said 14000 tickets sold do far and he thinks it will be a sell out come fight night. If it was as big as he says it would have sold out by now.
It’s the British forum and with no British boxers fighting the very particular mods are usually quick to shut down such things.
Canelo vs Bivol has 1,000s of tickets left. Wonder if this is the DAZN effect? All Canelo's fights sell out?
It is on the main forum, but no comments since yesterday. Mate in New York at the minute and was able to pic up decent tickets at $100. Said there plenty available at as low as $30. Despite all the Matchroom hype, and the push they are giving it, it isnt the huge event they are making it out to be.
