    Hold up, when Shakur comes up against guys like Cruz, Davis, Loma then he isn’t going to be that comfortable. Shakur is an elite talent but we need to remember that Valdez isn’t, this was a predictable result.

    I don't think he beats Davis yet.

    The shorter guy has to be stronger or faster or much better to get in the fight. Valdez proved to be none of the above, Tank is almost certainly stronger.

    You never know though, he's on the upswing of development. It's a good fight anyway.

    Valdez isn’t a bum but he’s never been on that level, he overachieved in the sport. Look at the rounds where Conceiaco schooled him, look at the amateur fight against Lomachenko. There are levels in boxing. Shakur is right up there but Valdez isn’t the measuring stick. We could see that from Valdez’ lunging and inability to do anything. He’s tough, he’s a fighter. I never thought he would be able to achieve what he has as a pro, he’s really squeezed every last drop out of himself.

    "People" are dumb. Valdez is a red-handed caught drug cheat (who very much deserved this one-sided ass-whipping by-the-by) who was taken to slick school by Conceição and only won by some very generous scorecards that gave him credit for body shots that were missing/hitting arms and gloves as much as they did...well tonight. Anyone and I mean anyone who thought this fight was going to end any other way is just wishful hyping (or hating) on Shakur.

    I have to disagree with people saying Oscar had success on the inside. All that came of it was Shakur going back to the potatoes and landing as he stepped away.

    Oscars grade here was a bigger fail than Shakurs was an A+. Thats sounds stupid maybe but how i feel. Great win, no doubt. Impressed. Yet... I dont know, I guess I just dont like Shakur at all from this point forward (and I was always ok with him prior to tonight).

    Lopez at least knocked Kamboses down. You can count the punches Valdez threw that landed on a legal scoring area of the body on both hands, and probably have fingers to spare. If he was shameless enough to think this was even approaching the stratosphere of "close" or "man if only I wasn't this or that" it would have been high comedy and the most entertaining part of the fight.

    I really need to stop giving these guys more credit than they deserve. I see potential where they don't. Once upon a time, he could cut the ring off, and knew how to fight a southpaw. Now sure, Tamayo absolutely sucks compared to Shakur, but goddamn... I didn't even see him attempt the angles he used back in the day. He wasn't great to begin with, but he's fallen in love with his power and badly regressed under the Reynoso brothers. Just like most non-Canelo fighters who sign with them do. They're just like Virgil Hunter and Andre Ward, the secret to Ward's success was also Ward, same goes for Canelo. they're just there to lend moral support and pass the clen laced chimichangas. :sisi1
