Stevenson will never reach Canelo`s level P4P, might never even crack the top 10. The only one that beats him for sure is Loma. I don't think he should rush into a Tank fight either. But everyone is young and developing, anything could happen.
I agree that Stevenson is fundamentally a better pure boxer than Bud and no one is Duran, Tank Davis is Tank Davis that is plenty enough to deal with.
He is inside the top 10 now already and is better pure boxer than Canelo can ever be. The watching Canelo and Eddy Reynoso in the corner we’re having nightmares as it reminded them of the gringo Floyd Mayweather who gave them a head scratching exercise setting them calculus they could not comprehend.
Every fighter has a style that is going to be kryptonite to them. We just haven’t seen Stevenson in a tough fight yet. Although if I were to guess I think stylistically Lomachenko would be a problem for Stevenson. Lomachenko thrives off pure boxer/counter puncher types.
Never said he was saying Canelo and Reynoso cannot deal with that style hence there is a reason they are avoiding particular African American types.
It will take someone like Lomachenko to beat him, or some hail Mary shot landing on target, which is less likely
He’s going to be very difficult to beat at super feather for sure, if he even fights there again. For those saying he isn’t top 10 p4p, well these arguments are subjective but he’s just cleaned up his division with ease, so he has to be in the mix. The question about how does he get beat is a different one. Personally I think he’s excellent, but he’s got a lot of advantages at 130. When he moves up in weight, similar fighters (in style) to Valdez will likely cause more problems simply to to size. Will his chin hold up and more importantly, can he fight on the inside and hold stronger guys off?He might be finding his ‘man strength’ but at the same time he should have got Valdez out of there, so his power may not be there. Incidentally I think the corner should have thought about pulling Oscar today but that is my opinion only. It was obvious today he was just miles too good and quite frankly too big for Valdez. He’s got the frame to go to 147 at least. He’s excellent but still questions to answer.
It's going to be a tough one to crack but it's going to take someone with at least equal length to him and serious hand speed
Doesn’t even need to be equal length. It’s going to be an aggressive guy who can get on the inside and make it sloppy. Valdez only success was when he did that. But that was too far and few in between.
