i just discovered this new upload, felt, it just belongs here and i hope, it´s new to you, too. while i´m rather well schooled about irish jerry quarry, i realized i didn´t know much about his almost forgotten younger brother, who always took a backseat to the famous older one. his story ended no less tragic than jerry´s or muhammad´s (among many, many others, who were not that famous) ... ending up a a shambling wreck in his early 50s, so sad. I remember Mike Quarry carrying on from his older brother Jerry. Mike was undefeated on the night of June 27 1972 when he faced World Light Heavyweight Champion Bob Foster in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mike was holding his own when he got tagged by Bob in round 4, then it was all over. That fight along with Muhammad Ali fighting Jerry Quarry was on the same card, it was billed as The Quarry Brothers vs The Soul Brothers. It was shown on Closed Circuit Television in my home town, there was no such thing as PPV back then.
They had the same mentality as Holyfield, Marciano, Frazier etc. But unfortunately it caused so many health issues in later life.
Probably. Seems like they were just genetically susceptible to it, and made it much worse via their sparring habits.
Very sad what happened to em. And in the case of Jerry, who came along in one of the hardest, toughest eras and fought his heart out. Only to suffer the after effects years later.
