    "A big fight [for to have], I’d say Navarrete, I don’t know any of the guys at 135 willing to jump in and test the water, but maybe a Lomachenko fight. I’m down for a Lomachenko fight, I don’t duck no action at the end of the day. I don’t care who it is, I’ll keep the same energy."

    Is Stevenson clout-chasing know that Lomachenko is unavailable because he's in a war?

    Surely deep down he doesn't want a loss this early in his career

    Maybe the old snake Bob Arum has assured him with regards to the judges.

    I would like to see it , excellent matchup and Loma is gradually slipping so the margins will narrow in fights like this now.. I'd be wary of the scoring though as Arum would love to build a new American star.. Loma would be fighting the system here

    I’m sure he wants to test his ability against the best possible opponents.. Shakur doesn’t strike me as someone who would duck.. he’s been calling for Valdez for 2 years before he finally got him in the ring..

    I think Stevenson genuinely believes he can beat Lomachenko and is not merely engaging in the usual name trafficking.

    Indeed, I think Stevenson is something of a welcome change in that respect.

    That said, Loma decisions him at either 130lbs or 135lbs.

    Ain't a single soul ever ducked Valdez, so that's not really that impressive.

    Negative. People were saying he didn’t want that fight when it was clear he would have dominated Valdez regardless. All I’m saying is he doesn’t strike me as a person that would Duck. There’s no shame in losing to Loma.

    I have no doubt in my mind Shakur thinks he can beat Loma, I firmly believe Shakur thinks he can actually beat anyone that's probably under MW, he has that air of conceit about his skillset. It's too early for Loma though, he's not even vetted at LW. Loma has to be favored at this point.................in a year or two though...............things change

    I think he would fight him but am skeptical Arum would risk it. Once it's clear that Loma has lost another step, I'd bet TR sets it up as a passing of the torch thing.

    good fight. i favor loma, but with the right game plan shakur has the potential to upset the aging master. hes got the speed and the legs to make things difficult for loma. time is also on his side.

    Loma has made it clear he wants to fight for all the belts at 135 in a division full of giants

    He did it the hard way too

    Winning three of them individually against opponents way bigger, heavier and longer than him

    Becoming undisputed has always been his dream

    He had the opportunity to achieve becoming undisputed in one fell swoop against Kambosos but he declined in order to fight for his country

    He might never get that opportunity now

    Imagine daring to be great coming so close to achieving your dream after putting all the hard work in winning three belts individually on the road and then after failing at the final hurdle against a much naturally bigger and heavier super explosive and athletic KO artist who is the hardest puncher in the division in their backyard you turn down the opportunity when it comes your way to win them all in one fell swoop

    He turned it down (and the fight was a done deal) even though he's getting on in age, has become very injury prone, and is past his best

    Again he's not trying to become undisputed in a division he's absolutely huge for and naturally one or two weight classes bigger than many of his opponents

    In complete contrast to many he's doing it the hard way in a division full of giants who are way bigger and heavier than him and he's been facing some of the hardest punchers at that weight who hit extremely hard for that weight class against men their own size and obviously power is magnified when you're facing much naturally bigger than you and vice versa

    When he moves up he is facing bigger/much bigger opponents who hold huge physical advantages over him

    When fighters who are rehydrating a lot/a ton of weight and are huge for the weight move up they're often still bigger or at worst the same size as many of their opponents at those higher weights

    How far South do you think he would have to be campaigning to enjoy the kind of weight and reach advantages his opponents at 135 have over him?

    I can assure you that wouldn't be the case at all if he was still down at 126

    He didn't duck his savage punching young phenom Jaron Ennis or Vergil Ortiz at 135 even though they were way bigger and heavier and more powerful than him

    He fought them in their backyard with a home ref and three home judges

    He could've easily ducked back down to 130 after winning a belt or unifying three of them at 135

    Agreed! Stevenson is good, but for me he lacks that WOW factor. Loma has the Wow factor. Watching VL fight I'm like damn, his opponents don't stand a chance when he is on. Felt the same way watching Mayweather, RJJ and Pac. So at this point I favor Loma. Stevenson stoll has time. He may show the WOW fa tor against Loma. One never knows.
