Well, he's 6ft7-9, 260lbs or so and outfoxed and beat every man he got in the ring with, iron chinned and very, very good at recovering. Plausibly the strongest HW champion ever, He was something else. He was also totally unlike anything Ali fought and wouldn't be anything like Ernie or Liston when it comes to using his jab in this one. If you wanted to make a perfect cheat code character like boxing was a video game you'd pretty much come out with Tyson Fury.

Easy UD ? Even for a prime Ali this is one of his hardest fights. Not only is the size and reach difference gigantic but Fury as awkward, slick, decent speed and has power

Basically a bunch of obscure, no name opponents, an overrated champion, a 400 years old hall of famer and a decent ranked contender.
Meaning he beat 3 ranked contender in his 14 years old career.
A nice resume but hey, the resume is not the main factor that will tell you who would prevail out of the 2 fellas. (Even if it was, Ali should be strongly favored to take fury out in the first round, given his MUCH more striking resume in which you can find more than 30 ranked contender and 9 or 8 hall of famers).
He had a great chin, which should have explained to you why i think he would go the distance with Ali. (Unless he was cut to pieces).

No sane human being believe he is the strongest anything because he is not. Except for you, I've never heard anyone in and out of the boxing ring "ooh and ah" about his strength or even the power that he actually lacks and substitute with his huge size and bulk.

AND, yes, when it comes to using the jab, he is different than liston and terrel in the sense that his jab was not as varied and simply nowhere near as good as theirs.

The best thing about this fight would be the mind games, I mean there both arguably the best at it. Can you imagine how entertaining the pre fight trash talk would be ?

This mostly mirrors my reasons, thanks Stitches.

Fury is certainly not a power puncher. People that contest that tend to kind of disqualify themselves as boxing experts. I'm far from one myself, but even I can see a big difference between Fury and, say, Lennox Lewis in terms of power. And Lewis wasn't even at the top tier, though a very fine puncher nonetheless.

I generally respect your input, Markus, but power? Huh?

Calm down Ali’s not a personal friend of yours. you actually seem offended by my post if I have I’m sorry. Fury is literally a unicorn stop trying so hard to undermine him.

You can see it in his fights he’s great his competition is enough to measure him. As for strength? He literally man handled guys.I didn’t say he was the strongest I said about. If I have called him the “strongest” I apologise how the hell would any of us know.

He is a juiced up, 6ft9er and about 270-260lbs fighter he’s strong undeniably and would be capable of leaning down on Ali and rag dolling him around if required. Tyson can be as we’ve seen a very physical fighter and with all that weight coming down on you over 12....

He’s got so much size on Ali the difference between him and Muhammad is greater then that of Muhammad looming over Patterson he also happens to have the skills to back that size up.

He’s not a big puncher I didn’t say he was, he hits hard enough, no doubt anyone that big Is bound to if they’re throwing it to hurt. His jab is definitely more applicable here then Liston or Ernies.

With all due respect I think you’d have to be lacking to not see why Fury would pose so many problems to a much smaller fighter with a negative style and not enough power.

I’m not saying it’s definite I just proposed some hypothetical stuff for you guys to ponder on. I think If Fury a much, much Larger guy makes this physical and used the right plan he could wear Muhammad down and really hurt the guy.

1988 Mike Tyson, a worlds better finisher than Wilder, would have knocked the bejesus out of Fury in 4 rounds imo.

The collision of 1960s and 2020s improprieties and identity politics would be...awkward. Ali calls Fury a racist (as per standard Ali procedure.) Fury points out that Ali is a segregationist. Both guys would bring in religion. Both guys have Twitter. And they'd both also have lots of video clips of each other saying ill-advised things.

It would be Holmes/Cooney for the digital age. Except the battle lines would be less clear. Just as angry. But less clear.

Yes Fury has power, he's not the same pillowfisted guy from before his coke binge. With sugar hill Steward he learned how to turn his shots over better and he can put more weight into his shots. It's the reason he demolished Wilder. He is not Foreman and even a Lewis but he is a huge guy and has decent power

Fury would frustrate Ali and with fair judges wins by decision. Similar skill sets but Fury's size gives him the edge.

I honestly think in the age of the internet half the sh1t Ali said would've put a gravestone on public relations. Imagine how they'd look at him if even a third of his fans for one listened to anything similar to his playboy interview on live TV. He'd be held in similar esteem to Jon Jones.

Where is the evidence Fury ever juiced up? His non-fat size is not that impressive, he never gained strength or size quickly, actually it is a mark against him *if* he cheated to be strong or get to be champion.
But it is unfair to say he did without a good reason.
Sure anyone could be juicing or beating their wife...But we should not assume facts not in evidence.
