These fighters were listed as switch hitters on a vid on youtube , but which of these fighters was/is tyhe best out of this list of names? 1:17 - Jaron Ennis 1:52 - Andre Ward 2:26 - Tyson Fury 3:00 - Mike Tyson 4:17 - Naseem Hamed 4:49 - Willie Pep 5:25 - Terence Crawford 6:04 - Marvin Hagler
He was on the list but I didn`t bother pasteing his name or timestamp because I thought I`d get laughed at.
I watched fury, hamed, tyson only to check if there was anything I missed. I missed nothing. Hammed is such a hardcoded southpaw that he cant even correctly switch when he acts like the clown he is, saying hamed is a switcher is just a joke. The other ones are walking as they punch, that's not easy, but I wouldnt say it makes them a switcher, imho it falls in a different category. The fury footage, well, yes, he's switching, but launching a hook doesnt make you a hooker that's not something fury does normally. And willie pep was plain orthodox, and he actually fights orthodox in your footage too. There is only a short second when he pivots and throws a punch and goes quickly back to his original orthodox stance. That's not a switcher, man. A switcher is a man who can switch from one stance to another one consistently, often and well. A hooker, as I said, is not a man who throws a hook, and a body puncher is not a man who threw one body punch in round one and never again. To be a switcher you have to do it consistently and often, not once in a century. Anyway, hagler and crawford are the clear winners in this list imho.
Tyson southpaw tactics are well documented on youtube vids they were taught to him as part of te peek a boo by D`Amato, he simply used the southpaw stance to create an angle for right hooks, he often stood square on so he could shift from southpaw to orthodox easier, he was an offensive monster that could hit you from any angle, this was taught to him by D`Amato who was a genius, Fury often turns southpaw he did v Chisora and tried it for a round v Whyte, he`s just not that good in a southpaw stance.
Mike Tyson boxing techniques footwork Cus d’Amato shift to southpaw. This video shows how Mike Tyson used to switch to southpaw, by stepping to the right side of the opponent, or stepping in to the left. This content is protected This content is protected
He stood square to have power with both hands, tons of fighters have fought like that, specially old timer. And what you call "switching" in tyson, I call it "punch while walking" that, in my opinion, is not the same. But we can disagree on that, no problem, we cant always agree with everyone.
