And challenged themselves against the toughest and best challenges available.

Bivol should have fought Kovalev and Beterbiev.

I hope Canelo inspires the new young generation to take on the best.

This has not happened for a very long time. Every fight after first GGG there was a more worthy opponent out there. Perhaps with the exception of Jacobs. It ain't like anybody else he graced with the monumental payday had much chance of beating him.

That said, props for taking the Bivol fight. His stock went up a couple of notches for me with this fight.

He beat the best MWs. Moved up to LHW and best a top three LHW. Moved to 168 and cleaned out the division and became undisputed. Now is fighting arguably #1 or #2 LHW.

    Who else is doing that?

Nobody now that Pac hung em up. That doesn't confer greatness upon Alvarez. This is a **** era in it's entirety. There is plenty of talent, but they overestimate their economic value and don't care about anything else.

The so called face of the sport can fight whoever, whenever. Not shocking.

Bivol won't even fight Beterbiev. They've both held titles at 175 for five years.

Canelo will come and do in one year what they didn't in five, just watch.

And yet he chooses to fight the best. All the praise for that.

Canelo might lose this one to Bivol, but maybe he'll win. If he wins, wow that'd be impressive, some people would lose their minds. I just think we're so used to Canelo winning that the idea of him losing doesn't really compute. But when you take risks like this anything can happen. Bivol is very capable of pulling this off, Canelo is really up against it this time.

Don't get me wrong Bivol is at worthy opponent but Usyk fought Huck in Germany, Gassiev in Russia, Bellew and Joshua in the UK that's way more impressive than fighting in Vegas nearly all the time with personal jugdes.
Fury fought Klitschko in Germany and Wilder in the USA that's more impressive either

he might inspire the new young generation to eat the best mexican steaks

It's not up to Bivol alone to make unification fights with other 175 belt holders. Other sides also have to agree first and overcome promotional roadblocks.

Canelo is definitely taking on tough challenges, but he is the cash cow, he can make a fight with anyone, without any roadblocks.
