If Gallen wins the Aussie title that is a pretty decent boxing career for a bloke who started late. Unfortunately I don't think we will ever get to see him fight the cat SBW.

Don't know anything about his opponent, could be difficult after a lay-off and bad injury but wish him well.

 

Somehow he has managed to hold on to his world ranking despite not fighting since 2020. Jason Whateley enters the IBF ratings at #10. It was Whateley that delayed the Breidis v Opetaia fight as he broke Jai’s ribs in sparring. That’s not talking out of school, it’s been reported in the press.

 

It doesn't bode well for Jai's chances against Briedis if he was pole-axed in sparring by Jason Whateley. He needed hard sparring but the injury is unfortunate.
