The man represents almost everything that's wrong with boxing... I want zero boxers to be like him. I want more boxers to be like Usyk. Fighting everyone possible, and in their backyard if needed.
Big Red has that CLOUT. He can pick his fights where other talented boxers are chained by promoters/ all the politicians of every organizations and lack of deep pockets. Canelo is the exception to the rule as he literally can call his own shots. I give the guy credit for cleaning out 168 and his confidence in jumping into 175 for the second time. Not too bad for a guy who claimed to not be a true MW just a few years ago
The crooked judges haven't been needed since the Golovkin fights, that's the most impressive part. He is now actually winning the fights.
That's where you fail. Pay has nothing to do with who you fight. Canelo is fighting top boxers who are unknown to the casual fan who are the biggest PPV market, yet he's still doing it.
Lmao!! I can read the pain in your post. Only reason why Usyk fights in other people's backyard is because no one wants to travel to the Ukraine to pay to watch him fight. Same reason why Canelo doesn't fight in Mexico. It doesn't make $en$e. You better believe that given the choice with the same compensation, any fighter including Usyk would rather fight at home. Stop being a little weasel and pay homage to the Great Canelo P4P#1, the face of boxing today.
Those are just excuses. For example, Canelo gave up the lion's share against Cotto to persuade Cotto to accept a fight with him. **** like that I respect. Many fighters including Golovkin would not do whatever it necessary to take on challenges.
Yes they did have a chance. There were MANY people picking Kovalev, Saunders, Smith, and Plant to win. You're also forgetting that Kovalev was actually leading against him before the KO so he was hardly a "joke" opponent like many hateful losers here are trying to make it seem. Surely he has to challenge Tyson Fury to go beyond "couple of notches" with Mr. Salty Dog?
