Canelo has a 90% Chance of winning whether he wins or not, just because of the judges, then add in that he is a proven ped cheat, and you fallow him? Who really is the simple one? GGG'S hands are the judges in all but 5 of his fights. Don't think Canelo can't be KOed by GGG it still may happen.

I've posted about wanting to see Canelo stop fighting the hapless Callum Smiths of the world and take up a real challenge for years. I believe posts of mine can be found say that this particular fight is the most dangerous of those available as well as ones praising him for taking it. So that won't be me. Doubtless there will be cries of robbery whatever the outcome, however.

What I object to are attempts to paint Alvarez' resume as some pristine example of a guy who fights a murderer's row of opponents fight after fight. And I post about it.

Look who's pretending to be an expert here. A simple minded clown that considers Golovkin vs Rubio to be Ali vs Frazier quality.

Alvarez vs Smith is a joke now? Smith, who was clearly naturally bigger than Alvarez and undefeated is a joke now? No offense here, but looking at how ridiculous your posts are, you either dislike the guy or your standards are borderline deluded. Who do you want him to fight then?, Anthony Joshua?

The fact that he's moving up like this is already beyond remarkable. How many Mexicans in history were able to do that especially considering his height and reach?

Probably not depending on how big of a Pac sycophant one was at the time. There were pretty good numbers of folks who thought guys like Cotto and Margarito and Clottey would be too big for him. Those were after DLH, weren't they? That said, if you put Pac's record against Canelo's I have a hard time thinking you would conclude that Canelo took as many risks as Pac did.

Canelo has been fighting undefeated champion after undefeated champion for a while now, that's a fact. Nobody else seems to be doing that, that's the main reason he's getting all these deserved accolades. What we think about the quality of those champions is all up for opinion.

You bring up Callum Smith as "not a real challenge" but did you forget was "being ducked" by Canelo after he defeated Fielding.

Yes Callum Smith vs Canelo Alvarez was a joke. I said so before the fight. The gap in power/strength was not there. If memory serves, there was little if any weight difference. Canelo filled out just fine at 168. I don't remember their respective fight night weights. Do you? Smith was taller and longer. It was not anywhere near enough to overcome the strength and power and skill possessed by Alvarez who just beat the snot out of a cowering Smith with nary a counterblow struck.

You guys don't seem to get it. I regard Canelo as an awesome fighter who is never content with the level of his own excellence. I can't remember the last time I rooted against him. Josecito Lopez maybe? My thing is I want to see him be as great as I think he is and claims to be. I want to see him in fights like SRL vs Duran 1 or any Pac vs Marquez or Hagler vs Hearns or Ali vs Frazier. Toney vs Jirov. There are many examples in boxing history. It's always been my position that greatness requires great deeds, not just the assumption that those deeds can be done. I believe Canelo is great. I want to see it.

If you think that is ridiculous, I can't help you.

Yeah, some people thought Pac might lose but he was still clearly the odds on favorite, which based on your assertion, "none of those were live dogs to many other than their respective sycophants. What did happen to them was not much of a surprise to most.", Pac should somehow not be credited as much for those wins.

I'm not comparing PAC to Canelo, simply asking for consistency.

Stans. Definitely not me and a championship isn't what it once was. I put very little stock in current governing bodies. You can win a belt by email these days. You want to compare Canelo to the current crop of fighters, I have no problem with that. He measures well against them. None of them are fighting as much. You want to compare him to Barrera (for example)? I'm going to reject that comparison.

Not sure I believe that. There were alot of Filipinos that would bet against Godzilla if he fought Pac, so maybe according to the bookies. Not sure about the pro boxing world and nerds like us, however.

Find my posts where I have been inconsistent in wanting fighters who would be great do great deeds. They don't exist.

Or maybe you want to see him fight Fury and Joshua in a triple threat handicap match...

If you think Smith was a joke fight, then you're beyond deluded. Enjoy the fight today and remember, if Alvarez wins, it's a joke fight.
