Eddie Hearn admitting Bivol was a cherrypick

I'm not sure you could really class this as a cherry pick as so many people rated Bivol and saw this as a risky fight. But obviously Canelo's team and Hearn thought that perhaps Bivol wasn't as good as many said he was and saw this as a fight they could win. But isn't that what with every fighter when picking an opponent? I doubt fighters say "That guys will definitely kick my ass, lets make the fight now!" They just thought they could beat Bivol, not that Bivol was suddenly ready to be taken.

Canelo didn't wait til Bivol got old or picked him after suffering a bad injury or a long lay off. He picked a young, prime, undefeated fighter who many thought could beat him. Sure Bivol supposedly looked vulnerable in his last 2 fights, though personally I didn't see what they saw in those performances that made them think Canelo could beat him.

 

Actually he did and that was his fist cherry pick gone wrong. Naw, it's not me who don't understand what a cherry pick is. It's a misconception that a cherry pick is a fighter who can't fight and gets chosen because of it. The game is a lot more sophisticated than that. However, there is no doubt that Canelo and his team thought Bivol was slipping. What champions has Canelo fought that was coming off a couple great wins. He fought champions who looked vulnerable and that's a fact.

 

He's literally been fighting an endless stream of undefeated Champions one after the other.

 

Canelo has fought the best comp in the past 3 years.

Anyone with any boxing knowledge knows this was not a cherry pick. I knew Bivol was worlds apart from Canelos previous opponents. Canelo admitted this would be much tougher than Kovalev and he wanted to challenge himself

Sort of like how one subpar performance from Kovalev does not indicate that the fight was thrown? You are so self aware aren’t you? hahahaha

That’s the beautiful thing about conspiracy theories, when your grand theory has nothing that can falsify it you can adapt it to any situation. Hence the appeal to the low iq and the fearful.
