Bivol just put on a clinc, how will Canelo fans cope after this loss?

    "Bivol too big"
-Bivols taller than Canelo but he is not bigger in size (he may be marginally) . Bivol has always been a decent sized 168lber fighting huge guys at 175lbs. That's obvious look at him vs LHW opposition and look at HBo fight night weigh ins. He said himself at 175lbs he at max rehydrates to 182-4lbs. Canelo himself said he walked around 180-182lbs and that'd be what he would be rehydrating to.

    "b.. B.. B.. But Canelo's vegan"
-Canelo admitted he wasn't sticking to a vegan diet eating meat every now and then

No surprise there. BTW how'd you score it?

I was at a fight party and there was so much yapping going on that I didn't really get a chance to score it properly but the overall sense was that it was an easy win for Bivol. I might watch it again later this week just to score it.

Same here, I need to rewatch it again. It seemed pretty back and forth to me with lots of close rounds until the late rounds. After 6 rounds I think it was Mora who thought it was pretty even, about 3 rounds a piece after 6, of course Mannix who has no clue how to score had Bivol well ahead.

Yeah the first half seemed close with Canelo pushing Bivol around for the first 4 rounds, which might be why the judges gave those to Canelo, and Bivol missed a lot but I still got the sense that he got the better of Canelo overall, as expected.

The fact that Canelo's most ardent and biased haters gave him about 3 rounds makes me think that he probably earned more.

Anyway, I'll try to do a re-watch later this week.

Yeah I thought Canelo was landing cleaner in the first 4-5 rounds than Bivol, with Bivol throwing more flurries but catching gloves.

Interesting that Canelo won the first 4, lost the next 4, then had that big round 9. Bivol had to win each of the last 3 rounds to win. And some people are acting like Bivol dominated and won every round. What idiots lol. If Canelo did fade in the last 3 rounds, he was in position to win or at least draw.

It happens, people lose. Doesn't make him a bad fighter all of a sudden.

I consider myself a Canelo fan. Bivol is better than I thought he was, certainly stronger and smarter than I thought he was. Congratulations to Bivol, he fought perfectly. Canelo is legendary for testing himself, he wasn’t able to get through to Bivol because of the skill and intelligence. I thought Canelo was clearly the heavier puncher so I wouldn’t rule him out in the rematch. I don’t know why Canelo trialled the vegan diet for this fight, that’s possibly part of the reason why he looked tired so early and easily. If he’s doing things because of a Netflix documentary that doesn’t speak well of his intelligence. Bivol punched whenever Canelo tried to rest or admire his work.
I think no less of Canelo and no boxing fan should. Imagine Floyd stepping up to fight prime undefeated guys at this stage of his career.. Canelo is the man, the best thing for the sport.

I scored it Bivol 117-111 Canelo. I can see how you could give it as narrow as 116-112, or as wide as 118-110, but not wider or narrower than either of these

Either way you dress it up it's a comfortable victory. I think Canelo is better off staying away from a rematch and going back to GGG 3

Yeah I never understood who the haters have been addressing on this site. There are maybe a handful of Canelo fans, several more who acknowledge his skills but really aren’t admirers and tons of haters. Just about every time there is a poll on who people are rooting for it about 70%-80% against Canelo. However the haters have to convince the forum that Canelo is a terrible guy because of all the delusional Canelo fans out there. I think they missed the Pacquiao and Mayweather days because that was much worse. I personally have no problem acknowledging all the problems with Canelo’s career from the dodgy scorecards and diva behavior, but he’s no worse than any other superstar in the sport. He is basically the only guy challenging himself and making big fights happen.

Yeah I was shocked to see yesterday the majority on the Reddit boxing sub picking Canelo over Hopkins, many picking him to KO Hopkins lol. Suffice to say a lot of redditors on that sub will be laying low.

If you could not see the fighters, only a computer-generated image, the winning fighter won decisively. The winning fighter was never hurt, blocked almost everything thrown at him, moved in and out masterfully and landed significantly more punches, as shown by box stats. That's all you need to know, regardless of who that fighter was. When you pull off the masks you would see that winning fighter was Bivol.

Along with Reddit you forgot to mention Twitter, you could add Youtube bias channels like Fighthype to that list, visiting that place on a rare chance makes you see the Cesspool Delusions of the Supposed Experts of Boxing.
