Fury is considered the best fighter of his generation and probably the best heavyweight since Lennox Lewis. What does he have to do to become an all time boxing great? I would say if he beats Usyk it would show his versatility and adaptability beyond any reasonable doubt and you could start to put him head to head with the greatest fighters of all time - If Joshua beats Usyk then a Fury v Joshua fight would be the biggest fight in British boxing history and maybe of all time the scale of which could only be matched by Lewis v Tyson or Mayweather v Pacquiao. Retirement now surely is not an option and just hot air and if he could beat Usyk I would still like to see him with Joshua for his last fight.

If Usyk beats Joshua, you can't call Fury the best Heavyweight of this generation unless he beats Usyk.

He’s already up there (top 20) but if he wants to be considered a real ATG he has to beat Usyk. I expect Usyk to beat Joshua in even better fashion in the rematch and this will lead to people debating who the real No.1 is. If he beats Usyk to become undisputed then someone like Joyce or Joshua after then he’s got a case for top 10

He holds better and more wins than Usyk and he beat a fresher Chisora much more efficiently than Usyk. If Usyk beats Joshua handily people will question Joshua's current pedigree. Usyk has a long way to go before he can be considered the best heavyweight of his generation aside from that he only started out in the division in 2019.

If fury needs USKY then he needs fat little grinning andy too surely?

Fury gets zero credit for beating up USKY same way he got zero credit for beating up USS

Couple of cruiserweights against a 6'9 ATG HW

He won't beat Usyk at this point, but if he waits until Usyk retires and Joshua wins a belt back becoming a three-time champ, he can come back and beat Joshua and its all good.

If I am wrong (it happened one time, a very long time ago) and he does beat Usyk, then he is a lock. If he beats Usyk AND Joshua, he leapfrogs ahead of a lot of other beloved greats.

He will never be a great until his boxing CV passes the scrutiny of forum CV guru @Mitch87 - the man is a walking Tyson Fury encyclopedia.

He knows the lot about Fury's career including; the colour of shorts worn by opponent Tough Teak Bela Gyongyosi from Hungary when Fury made his debut, the colour of jacket worn by Big Dave Price at Wembley Arena July 2011 when he was watching Fury beating up Pudding Chisora to win the British Heavyweight Title and even knows where Big Joan Fury stashes his eyeball collection.

Until Fury is confirmed as a great by @Mitch87 , he will never be considered a great on this forum.

Doesn’t want any of Usyk. He’ll wait for the Joshua Usyk rematch and if Joshua wins then he’ll reverse his ‘retirement’.

He’s got to actually become the undisputed champion that is the bare minimum expected.there is a British fighter active who’s already achieved this in half the time fury has been a professional in Josh Taylor.

Undisputed doesn't really mean that much except that the belts were in the right place at the right time.

Anyone who thinks Fury would not be confident of beating Usyk are in cloud cockoo land. Fair enough if you think Usyk would beat him (I don't), but to think Fury's is planning his future based on avoiding Usyk is mental. Those who think this, would be the same people who would say he is avoiding someone else if he fought and beat Usyk.

If Fury retired now he is the best of his generation. Beat Wilder multiple times in his own backyard, dethroned Klitschko in his backyard, and beat Whyte in his backyard (even though crowd were backing Tyson). Unless new elite heavyweights appear in next year or two Usyk could not overtake his achievements at Heavyweight.

Usyk is the only fight in the division.

I agree if Fury continues it looks the best fight. But regardless people would still want him to fight someone else after.
